I'm aware that yesterday's curse was about the prenups more than the actual marriage, but it still made me wonder:

What are your thoughts on relationships in the City, given that people might leave at any time, or return without memories? Not necessarily romantic relationships only; I'm sure the lack of stability has a similar effect on friendships.

I don't understand the point of signing a piece of paper that says what will happen if there's a divorce.

It isn't particularly romantic. Practical, at times, but not romantic.

Far more common than 50 years ago, I'm afraid.

I can think of arguments both in favour and against the higher divorce rate.
