It- he had to face the Serpent in order to save the world, but if he killed the Serpent, he would die. Our father prophesied it. Our father was a bit of a douche, to use the colloquialism. I only made it so that Thor won, but in winning...

No! I love nothing more than Thor.

Our world is always in peril. The Serpent was our father's evil brother- oho, do not think a parallel was not drawn by everyone in Asgard- and he sought to raze Midgard, then Asgard, to the ground. My brother, Thor, the Mighty Norse God Superhero Avenger would not let that happen.

And, he was going to face the Serpent either way, I only had to ensure that the his sacrifice would not be for nothing.

Yes. We are gods. But we live in Midgard now.

[Slight wince.] Well, the Nightmare Lord wanted to create the ultimate fear weapon, but he needed a powerful ingredient- namely all of the nightmares in my head. So. I gave them to him and allowed him to forge the weapon. Then I told all of the other Fear Lords and they are all locked in immortal battle for the ultimate fear weapon.

I think it was rather ingenious. And something potentially useful for later.

People were dying from the Nightmare lord, and mine were truly terrible. I drank an entire case of the Red Bull to ward off sleep.

Yggdrasil. It. I thought I was bringing democracy to an oppressed people. Ah. Turns out they were allied with a maniac set on burning all things to the ground. Oops.

I helped bring Thor back. He understood what I did, I think. Ah. Still working on Yggdrasil burning. They are grossly exaggerated in black and white print like this. People do not understand shades of gray here.
