Video (apparently it's not completely borked)

[harrydresden]

There's snow for a minute and then bright light and the device is apparently on the ground tilted a little up and askew.  You can see blades of grass and beyond that, a tall, scruffy looking man with his hair sticking up as though he hasn't brushed it since he got up, in jeans and a t-shirt, looking down at a small woman who seems enthusiastic.  He runs his hands through his hair making it look even worse if that's possible and holds out a hand.  There's talking but it's hard to hear from the distance the device is at. Whatever they've said, she beams up at him and steps up on his feet and takes his hand.

Somewhere there are strains of music though it's hard to make out as he begins to move, picking up the steps to the dance after a moment of thought.  She comes up to his chest and looks childlike, standing on his shoes like that but seems to be having fun regardless and he's looking a little amused by the whole thing as they twirl.   Neither of them seems to notice the device is on. 

The video flickers and fuzzes in and out when they twirl closer and then promptly goes black again.

You know this would be a lot easier if I didn't have to keep my feet on the ground. Do you think we would get disqualified if I hovered?

I think half the dancing is the footwork. But I don't really know the rules here. You can uh... hover?

[there are a couple of quick steps than he makes into turns at her reaction. He's a pretty nice guy when he's not in a bad mood. He grins in amusement and adds on]

I'm doing all the work here.

Yep. It comes with the angel thing. Although if I were any higher I might miss out on a few of the perks.

[She does have her arm at a very comfy place around the small of his back, after all.]

I would offer to swap, but I think that would be a little counter-productive.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten. [mostly because she wasn't floating around]

[That earns a raised eyebrow and he doesn't actually get it since she's mostly behaving even if he's going to have to teach her where to properly put her arm. After all, the feet are the hard part right now.]

I wouldn't want to crush your toes.

We need to talk about your hair. This is an intervention. A hair intervention. However will you find a special lady like that? Tsk.

I could wear my steel-toed boots. Because I totally have those. But then I might crush you when we swapped again.

I think it's pretty cute, actually.

I'm not super strong or anything but I think I'd be fine as long as you avoided kicking me.

[he takes her hand and twirls her out off his toes and then back around so that he draws her arm up into the correct form for a foxtrot so that it rests on his arm where he holds her higher up on her back. He looks pretty proud of himself for doing so smoothly too.]

Ouch that's a little harsh. I didn't even know this thing worked anymore for video. That Pavel kid is better at this than I expected.

Oh come on, what is this, pick on Harry day?

I don't think it's my hair that keeps ladies away.

What? If this is another hobo comment ...

Never! I have far too much respect for you than that. [Pleasant little liar, isn't he?] I am only attempting to help you.

I should think it is your hair. You are of a decent stature, powerful in magic. Perhaps lacking in lands or a title, but that is moot here anyway.

Right. [This is Harry not believing you.]

I understand I'm difficult to get along with and people around me get hurt. You and I need to start working on potions by the way. [deflecting? who him?]

Potions? I suppose that is a good place to start. Interesting ones, though, nothing boring.

[He's just going to grin at you, Harry.] You do not seem difficult at all, rather agreeable, actually. And people get hurt all of the time. They are squishy and mortal.

[harrydresden]

Think about what you want to do. And we're not doing love potions. This shouldn't be for entertainment you know.

Let's not call people squishy. Ick.

Love potions? No, no, I wish to learn something useful.

Squishy is what you are, though. It is truthful. Blood and strange internal things. I saw it on the internet.

Good, come up with a list.

What are you made of, light? Anyway, let's not focus on squishing people if it's all the same. Mortality makes you appreciate things more.

[Please please tell him, his student is not trying to hook him up because seriously.]

Muscle. [A faintly cheeky grin. He's made of frost giant bits, too, but that's neither here nor there as he can survive a decapitation as just a head.] I do not intend to squish people.

I shall make a very detailed, comprehensive list.

[justamessenger]

I promise nothing. I can get very kicky.

[And then she's being twirled again and her words dissolve into a fit of giggles.]

Which one are we doing now?

Why wouldn't I be? He's very interesting.
