I need to know if any doctors in this city have experience with extra-terrestrials. I'm not showing up at that hospital until I know I'm not going to be diagnosed with a fever and a heart attack on sight.
And sorry, Doctor, but I know you know about as much of medicine as I do.
[ooc: Turlough got hit with a stray manhole during the sewer fire event and has been hiding in his room hoping a possibly fractured rib will just go away. It's not working for him.]

I can manage.

Three times, deep as you can.

He breathes deep and steady, trying his very best not to stutter on the exhale.]

[This time Chase won't be listening - he presses his thumb against Turlough's ribcage, working his way down. One of these is likely to hurt more than the others.]
Do you ever think it's strange, us having similar anatomies?
[Hopefully the reply will be long enough that either a yelp or a silence will be enough to clue Chase in.]

[He doesn't react much to the pain. He's been trained out of that. Just a slight hiss of breath between words.]

Ducks on their head, fine. It's not differences between races on different planets that surprise me, it's how many of them are similar. So, do you want the good news or the bad news first?

Re: [action]
You have broken ribs. Specifically, these two ribs. That's the good news, because it's not a particularly serious injury. Leave it alone, don't try and tape your chest up but don't do anything too strenuous and they'll heal on their own in a few weeks. The bad news is, it's not a particularly serious injury and it will heal on its own. Meaning, there's not a lot I can do for you. I'm going to write you a script for some painkillers that will take the swelling down and leave you moving a lot easier, and I'll dig out an ice pack you can take home.

Alright.
