[Lena is sitting with a tile wall behind her and an epic pout on her face. She's also wearing a yellow raincoat, the hood pulled up, as water beats down on the top of her head. She pans the camera up to show a little black raincloud above her head.]

This sucks.

[Her voice echoes off the tiles. Yep, she's sitting in her bathtub.]

I can't Cast anything that will get rid of it, or block it. Not unless it's against my head like this hood. Has anyone had this curse before? Is there any way to stop it?



[ooc: Lena's been hit with the Find A Rainbow Day curse. Her pessimism keeps the black rain cloud, but cheerfulness will bring a rainbow! She's just too grumpy to try and be positive.]

[She's peeved that her own magic won't work, but she's so desperate to have the thing gone that she's willing to let someone else try.]

[Have an address to one of the 12 apartment complexes (I totes can't remember now which I choose) and an apt. number.]

Of course. Give me five minutes.

[And, five minutes later - if Lena is near a window - she'll hear a crack, and then the buzzing at the door of her apartment complex.]

[Unfortunately, Lena's sitting in the tub, in a bathroom with no windows, so she doesn't hear the crack. But at the buzzer sound, she concentrates on the call box and the button depresses, opening the front door.]

[As the door swings open, Percy pushes the door open, glancing around to get a feel for the layout of the flat. It's much like the one he and Ginny share, and that means the bathroom should be ... there.]

Good afternoon, Miss Duchannes. I thought I'd try a Meteolojinx Recanto? If not that, an Impervius Charm, a Shield Charm, or a Bubble-Head Charm might work.

That's a lot of charms. Umm, whatever you want to try? This is new for me, having a Wizard put charms on me, so I'm sort of nervous.

It won't hurt.

- although if it does, please let me know immediately.

But it shouldn't.

[SO. COMFORTING.

He aims his wand at the small cloud.]

[She opens her mouth, ready to ask just what he means by that, but he starts and she braces herself.

The black cloud continues to rain down on her, mocking them.]

Well, not that one.

Damn, I was hoping. Next one, then.

Impervius!

[claimyourself]

[A whole lot of nothing is the result.]

You don't think any of these spells will backfire because this is a curse, do you? Like, things will get worse?

[She worries her bottom lip with her teeth. It would be just typical for her if things go from bad to worse. Expected, really.]

I don't - think so. I've never seen that sort of effect on a curse before. Shall I stop?

[She considers this a moment, then shakes her head.]

Ever hear of Chinese water torture? This is basically it. So keep going.

[aperfectthird]

Er - no. What's Chinese water torture?

Evanesco!

[claimyourself]

[She waits to see if the spell's worked, and when it doesn't, she speaks.]

It's where a prisoner is strapped down and water's dripped onto their forehead. Like, continuously. After awhile it's supposed to drive the person insane.

That does sound unpleasant.

Protego!

[claimyourself]

Yeah. I can see how it'd work too.

[The charm pushes against the rain, but the rain pushes back and continues to pour on her head.]

[aperfectthird]

Damn! Finite incantatem!

[That's more of a well I'll give it a shot than really believing it'll work, at this point.]

[claimyourself]

[The spell hits the cloud, and the cloud dissolves away, only briefly. It's enough time that Lena feels the rain stop and she looks both amazed and excited.]

It worked? It feels like it worked.

[Except the curse comes back. Luckily, because she's in a good mood now, it comes back as a rainbow surrounding her head. The spectrum of colors reflects off the tiles and Lena eyes them suspiciously.]

Uhh...

[aperfectthird]

Oh. Well. That's - cheerful.

[claimyourself]

What do you mean?

[She gets up and steps out of the tub, checking her reflection in the mirror over the sink.]

What's...?

[She trails off, poking at the rainbow, but it doesn't go away.]

Okay, this is weird, but way better than the rain. It can stay until the curse is over.

[Now she turns to face Percy.]

Thank you for your help.

I'm happy I could help.

[He looks in the mirror as well.]

That's much nicer than the raincloud.

It really is. Like I said, if I have to be stuck with something over my head for the day, I prefer this.

I'm glad I could help, then. Will you let me know if it changes back?

Definitely. Then you can do that... infinite incandescent thing.

[Okay, that totally wasn't it. And she knows enough of Latin to have picked up on it. She just wasn't really paying attention at the time because the water was driving her insane.]
