Usually this is Tony's problem, and still, even he's not as violent about it. I'm beginning to see how annoying it is from everyone else's perspective.

Not so much something wrong with the devices, more something wrong with the people. There must be a curse going around today.

He just refuses to take anything handed to him by anyone but myself and maybe one or two other people he knows and trusts. He doesn't throw anything.

Has he a history of being handed unfortunate things?

He has a history of being hurt and betrayed, and I think at some point he figured this was just safer.

I can pick things up fine, I just can't take anything handed to me by anyone else.

I shall hazard a guess that those around you are cursed?

Not just those around me. I threw down a prototype one of our engineers handed me this morning, setting his research back weeks. It's incredibly inconvenient.

Yes, those things would have been much worse. I'll have to make sure to stay away from day care centers and pet stores at least until tomorrow.

No, I have thrown everything in my grasp to the floor. In one instance, multiple times.

Everything save this staff, which is likely a good thing since I -ah- .. inherited it from Loki when he left.

Because the staff, and the power behind it, were responsible for a lot of pain and destruction back where I come from. Think about how Agent Barton might feel to see it. Or Dr. Banner.

[ Or Coulson, or Natasha, or... ] I should hope so. Maybe put some bubble wrap around the blade end or something.

...are you being facetious about that part? Because I have handled many a dangerous artifact in my time, you know. Without ending myself on it or inadvertently taking over the world.

I wasn't being entirely facetious, no. I'm just saying it would make me feel better if that thing were rendered less ...deadly.

As well as figuring out if it can be used to send us all home.

I think, start small, maybe? Start with turning the evil off, then maybe start some purely theoretical work on breaking the laws of this universe without destroying ourselves and everything in it?

I am as yet unsure how to turn off the evil. Possibly, it is not entirely evil unto itself, only mimicking the intentions of the wielder.

Or so I am guessing.

I'd feel a lot better if this guesswork was supervised.
