[The scene shows a table scattered with an assortment of make-up, powders, creams, blushes eyeliners, mascara tubes. In the background, there's classical music playing. At the moment it's Le sacre du printemps by Igor Stravinsky. A slender hand sets down an eyeliner stick and picks up a tube of mascara. Once the cap is twisted off, there's hesitation and then the tube is tipped so that sand pours out of it.]

That's the second one in two days... Luce! I need to borrow some mascara!

Yeah, it just seems to be more and more... There's no getting rid of it.

Sorta reminds me of a week I spent in Mexico. It was cool.

I don't mind being dirty, I guess. It just... mascara? It's hard to be cute without mascara.

[There's a smirk and he shakes his head.]

Yeah? Ain't ever had that problem myself.

Okay so you see me now. And... just a sec.

[She leans away from the video and puts eyeliner and mascara on one eye. It's dark and thick. Then she's in the video again to show him the difference.]

World of change from one eye to the next, see?

[Tim grins at that. He's never actually had a girl explain makeup to him.]

So it's like...I got nothin'.

Do the other eye and let's go out dancin'.

[At first she looks surprised at the offer... or demand. But then she almost grins and leans away again to fix up her other eye. She's gonna talk as she does.]

How did you know I like to dance?

You're a girl.

[It's said in that 'duh' tone of voice.]

I ain't good at much besides two steppin'.

You make me sound like a cliche. That's not awesome.

[She looks back into the screen as she dabs a bit of barely there blush on her cheeks.] And I'm from Alabama, two-stepping is our thing.

Didn't say that. It's just sorta thing, far as I know. Girls like dancin'.

[Tim just grins.] Alright then, we'll be just fine.

You mean you've never met a girl who didn't like to dance?

[Tim thinks about this a second.]

Nope but Dillon's a small town.

[Lucy walks into Jill's room with a tube of mascara in hand.]

Only if I can borrow your hot rollers. Mine have dissolved into a pile of sand.

[Jill dips down in her chair beneath her make-up table to snag the box of rollers.]

You're a lifesaver. I really need mascara or I look like I'm twelve.

You look at least fourteen without mascara.

[She's teasing Jill. She's just going to take the rollers, plug them in and start doing her hair while Jill is doing her makeup.]

So work?

Yeah, work. And there are sometimes cute people at work so I can't look like I didn't at least put a little effort into it.

Oooooh tell me about these cute people.

Well, the City is full of pretty people. It's uhm... it's bound to happen that some of them might make it into The Blue Light...

No one... in... uhm... there might be some people. [She's gonna focus on putting her mascara on now. All the mascara.]
