[ The video feed clicks on, showing a room, a little dusty and not too large, rows of shelves filled with hats of all sorts along all walls. There's a desk in the middle, and it has Amy Pond pacing diagonally through it. ] Okay, yeah, but we gotta. Promote it somehow, right? Can't have a detective agency without clients, right?

Posters! [ There's a crash from somewhere off screen, before something is flung across the room. ] That's how they did it in the old days, massive posters. With slogans. We need a slogan, something cool.

[ The video doesn't pick up on Amy rolling her eyes, but it's obvious in her tone anyways. ] Posters, Doctor? Really? That's so— no. no. This is the 21st century, yeah? Or like it, at least. We should make a post on the network. [ Pausing just a moment. ] But we need a slogan, yeah. And a name.

What's wrong with posters? [ He sounds wounded, wandering into view, with his fingers curled around his braces, straightening himself up. ] I've always loved a good poster. Of -- what do people have posters of, anyways?

Posters are for teenage girls with crushes on movie stars or little girls who like ponies. Or boys who like cars or naked girls, I s'ppose. We're not gonna do a poster. [ All the frowning ]

[ Abandoning that in favour of tripping forward, crossing his arms over his chest and looking unimpressed. ] But I really wanted a poster. [ A sigh. ] Let's get on with this then.

Yeah, all right. [ Grinning now ] So. Hey City. You've heard, yeah? Detective agency, we need cases. We're— Pond and Smith? Smith and Pond? Detectives, anyhow.

And we are going to solve all your mysteries, big or small, weird and wonderful, strange and spooky. Just leave it to us, honestly, it's what we do.

[ — and the feed clicks off ]

[ Red is the eleventh Doctor, green is Amy and Pond and Smith is now open for business. Give them cases! Lost a fez? Searching for your pet pig? Want to know what your neighbour's cat gets up to at night? Or why there's a crack in your wall? Call them! ]

[ He ends the feed easily and follows the awesome directions, entering the café five minutes later. ]

[ Amy shows up a little after that, waving at Howard. ] Hey.

[ Howard's leaning against the counter, talking to the woman serving, and whatever magical words he's whispering to her get the right reaction.

He excuses himself when Amy pops up out of no where and winks at the other woman as he excuses himself. ]

Wasn't sure you'd come. [ Waving a hand to the counter. ] What kind'a foam you like on your coffee?

[ He gets a raised eyebrow. ] Y' wouldn't have been bored without me. [ Smirking. ] I can leave again, if you'd prefer.

Oh, just cappuccino. D'you have money, or do I need t' pay?

[ He makes to reach out to stop her, hands wavering, and then thinks better of it. She might hurt him. ] Hey, hey, come on, the party ain't starting until you're all in.

[ He's managed to scrounge up a little, taking out a handful of change. ] This gonna cover it?

[ Noticing the wavering. She smirks a bit. Men are so easy sometimes, really. ]

Yeah, that should do it.

Good thing, too, it's the last'a it. [ He makes the order, adds in a black coffee for himself, and scoops them up when they're on the counter. ]

You're not gonna make me do the whole chair thing, are you?

Y'sure you don't want me to pay? [ Raised eyebrows. ] I've a job and all.

[ Sitting down. ] You're pretty old-fashioned. When're you from?

Got this one. How's that going, by the way?

[ Parking himself comfortably, putting the coffees down. ] Last time I checked? Was 1944. Lose track'a dates.

Y' just find something you're good at and you do it. Then you get paid. [ Frowning. ] Well. If it's an actual job, anyways.

1944, huh. America? Haven't been there that time, only England and Germany, really. And Germany was an accident.

Not sure there's anything round here close to what I do, but I'm working on it.

Been to England, didn't see much'a it. Too busy underground, strategising how to take out the Germans.

What do you do, then?

Ah. Did y' see any Daleks?

Depends where the work's taking me. But right now? Building weapons for the war.

What the hell's a dalek?

[ Amy grabs a napkin and scribbles an approximation of a Dalek on it. It's easier than explaining. ]

Weapons, huh? So build something that's not a weapon.

[ Tilting his head at the napkin, squinting. ] And this's a dalek? Looks more like a salt pot. Definitely never seen one'a 'em before. What's it do?

Gotta find someone who needs something building first, or the materials to play around with.

Bit bigger than a salt pot.

[ Waving a hand around, vaguely. ] The usual. Destroy the world.

These things destroy the world? [ Glancing at it some more. ] Guess it's not that difficult to put something together intended for destruction, but they could'a come up with something more... [ What's the current word for cool? He can't keep track of these things. ]

Nah. They only try.

That a plunger?

[ He takes a sip of the hot coffee as he pokes the napkin. ]

More like a gun. Sorta. A bit. Definitely more gun than plunger.

[ Eyeing the napkin. ] I can see why you'd ask, though, yeah.

These things sure are intriguing. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one in the lab, see what makes it tick.

Y' could ask the Doctor. He probably knows.

Next time I see the guy, I'll remember to do that. Colourful guy, by the way, he fun to hang out with?

The best, yeah. [ Smiling broadly. Can you tell the Doctor is one of her favourite persons in the world? Can you? ]
