[ At first, there are just little domestic sounds -- someone wandering around the kitchen, open the fridge, shut the fridge. And then the Doctor begins to speak to himself. ]

So they've all gone home, our visitors, and left us here behind. Back to their worlds, back to their adventures, and we're left cooling our heels in this forgotten corner of the universe. Playing domestic for a bunch of bored madmen. Great. Always how I imagined life. Usually I'm liberating places like that.

[ A pause. ] And the milk's gone off. Tastes like sand. Oi, hold on, is my device recor--

[ Yes, Doctor, it was. ]

I think it's because there's sand in it.

[ He wasn't going to drink it, so he poured it through a small filter to investigate. ]

I found some in my shampoo and my toothbrush. Not quite the scrubbed clean feeling I was looking for.

Definitely scrubbed, probably not clean.

Pretty much. This is why I don't usually enjoy going to the beach. Sand gets everywhere too easily.

It's not much of a curse, if that's what it is. Minor annoyance.

Most milk doesn't taste like sand when it turns.

That's weird, now that I think on it. I had sand in the bottom of the shower this morning.

Generally, no. Although if you take a turn about the [ god only knows ] galaxy, it does get a bit gritty after a while.

Have you been to the beach?

... sounds downright foul.

I don't do beaches.

It is. I like to avoid it, although more because of the wars than the food.

Beginning to think it's a theme, the sand. A curse.

There's was sand in my orange juice this morning. I wonder if it's from the same company.

Even so, totally different process. Or so you'd think. Might be orange juice cows out there somewhere, but I don't want to hear about it.

Orange juice cows...it's an interesting thought and slowly getting to know this place, it might be likely. But disturbing nonetheless. I really do hope this passes it seems like it's everywhere now.
