[Boredom was an interesting thing. Hazuki was sure some Contractors must experience it- she was sure she had, at times. In this City most of all. And if it did not interfere with the basic tenants of her personal safety, she did not see anything wrong with trying to erase that irksome thing.

She had very few hobbies, however. Perhaps she should get a new one. ... If only something out there seemed interesting.

As it was, she was curbing that odd instinct by walking the streets. Taking advantage, some might call it. Perverse retribution was what Hazuki thought of it as. She, whose contract required her to kiss men so intensely after using her powers, uncursed, and the rest affected?

It was almost funny.]

[He's a better actor than she is. She was usually assigned strictly to assassinations more so than undercover. He was said to be special, had to be, to be involved with Izanami but-]

It's nothing. You reminded me of someone is all.

[She makes a fake expression of her own, brushing it off- but it's blatantly more fake than his had been.]

[ His life is comprised of masks. The Reaper is one. Li is another. Both are dictated -- and perfected -- by their use. He sees the crack in Hazuki's own mask. Contemplates whether to widen it -- or shelve it away for future use. ]

[ Remind me of someone. It's more telling than she might realize. ]

Well -- [ An embarrassed laugh. ] -- I hope it's not someone you associate with bad memories. That would be awkward, huh?

[ He opts for widening. Just to spark a reaction. ]

It would be.

[She doesn't comment on whether it's a bad memory or not. It's her worst memory, and that in and of itself confuses her- feeling something regarding a memory beyond passive acknowledgement of its truth.

Hazuki, who doesn't really feel anything in particular about her assassination targets, wants to kill him. BK-201 didn't kill her with his own hands but he'd tortured her, likely. He'd kidnapped her.

She wants to kill him.]

[ A Contractor with a grudge? A paradox in and of itself. But he's heard -- seen -- stranger things. Doesn't his hatred for Amber stem from an irrational source? (It's not irrational. It's about Pai.) He can use that not-logic to explain anything. (Sometimes he still hears Carmine's remark; Are you really at Contractor at all?) ]

[ To Hazuki, he only smiles. ]

It's no problem.

[ A flustered little bow. He turns to go. Instinct and training dictate he watch this woman. ]

[He plans to. ]

[ It's not a victorious objective. But the curse makes it one. Before he knows it, he's wheeling to face Hazuki. Invading her personal space to impart a kiss. To passersby, it seems sweet. ]

[ But for all 'Li's red-faced diffidence, it isn't timid. ]

[If she'd chosen to, she could have sideswept that pass, or accepted it only to knee him in the groin and throw him on his back. That would blow her cover more than anything else.

He tastes like shit.

And so she affects a startled response, a small flail.

And bites.]

[ He doesn't show how much this curse disgusts him. Being out of control isn't something he favors -- strategically or personally. There's a small urge to bite back (This is an attack warranting swift riposte.) Instead, he lets 'Li' take over. ]

[ And lets off a muffled Ow! ]

[ He breaks away in the next moment. Blushing, wide-eyed, mouth smarting. ]

I-I-I'm so sorry!

[ Seeming too embarrassed to meet her eye. ]

[Hazuki licks her lips, yet it's not a sensual move, it's disgusted, and her mouth is curling up in to a small sneer.

He's a far better actor than she, and she won't bother trying to out act him. Her disgusted look thankfully doesn't need acting skills.

She crosses her arms.]

Don't do that again.

[She'd had more than enough of his mouth.]

[ He resists the urge to touch his aching lip. Instead offers a mortified bow. The rancor in her gaze is both warranted and too-intense. If she starts spitting, he wouldn't be too surprised. ] Of course. [ Nod, nod, nod. ] It -- It must be a curse.

[ He retreats hastily. Stoop-shouldered, head down. From behind, he resembles a mouse scurrying away. But in his head, the gears are whirring. ]

[ This one, I investigate. ]
