[ After looking the device over multiple times and trying to figure out what it did, Mako gave up on a small grunt of frustration. There was no point in pressing all the buttons--what if one set it to self-destruct? He’s soaking wet, dripping water everywhere, and to top it all off, he’s lost. Mako doesn’t have the patience or time right now to piss away with the box with buttons he’d nearly stepped on trying to get out of that fountain. Gripping it in hand he heads off to wherever, not sure where he is or how he’s landed himself here. All he knows is that he has to find Bolin and Asami, Korra and the others. Tenzin and Lin.

There was no way the airship could’ve gone down; he woke up in this place fairly unscathed. This didn't look a thing like Republic City or Air Temple Island. So what was the big deal anyway?

Where does he even begin looking? What if they’re hurt? What if Amon’s gotten to them? All these thoughts push him to quicken his step, his fingers tightening around his device. That’s when it turns on, showing on the network scenery scrolling sideways. It blurs as water drips down onto the camera portion, but the voice is there and calling out. ]

Bolin? Bro, now’s not the time for a game of hide-and-seek-the-fire-ferret. Asami? Sweetie, answer me please— Korra? Tenzin? Lin?

Anyone?

[HEY. HEY. THIS IS NOT JUST THE KORRA AND MAKO PARTY. WHAT THE HECK, GUYS.

HE'S COMING ALONG TOO, GEEZ]

[ He'll just ... stay here. And wait (as much as it kills him), standing there staring down at his box with buttons. What else can he do? While it seems like his brother's safe and sound, the same for Korra, there's still the absence of Asami and the others.

Mako starts to pace while warming his internal temperature to try to dry himself off. ]

[Korra reaches the fountain, but she doesn't see him right away. She looks around, hardly daring to breathe -- and when she finally sees him, for a moment, she can't.]

MAKO!

[Have an excitable Avatar flinging herself at you, Mako!]

[ Aaaannnndddd down he goes. The sudden force behind her weight knocks him flat on his ass. Mako grunts as the back of his head connects with the ground.

BUT THAT'S OKAY. CAUSE THIS IS KORRA. AND SHE'S SAFE. AND BOLIN'S GOING TO BE RIGHT BEHIND HER - Mako's big brother!senses are tingling. ]

K-Korra-- hey! You... sure are happy to see me.

[A part of Korra is embarrassed -- she's tried so hard to put aside her feelings for him since Asami -- but mostly she's so happy he's here, and she found him! Filled with a sense of accomplishment, there's really only one thing she can do.

Grab his face and kiss him senseless.]

[Why is it that he always picks the absolute worst time to arrive at a scene. Why. Why. Ugh. Yeah, sure, he's over it. He's totally over it! Utterly and completely one-hundred percent over it.

Yes.

Yup.

So seeing his brother and Korra make out is no big thing. Not at all.]

Take your time, guys. Take your time.

[This sucks a lot.]

[ It's like they're suddenly back home again, minus the arguing that had taken place prior to the moment Korra had kissed him. Mako doesn't have time to react as he feels her hands on the sides of his face; he's pulled up and then all he knows is warmth, as soft lips crush to his. This is all-too familiar. The hand Mako had rested at her hip unconsciously tightens. In that brief span of five seconds, Mako savored the taste and feel of her (as he had back home)-- only to abruptly jerk away, eyes snapping open. The dull throb at the back of his skull and Bolin's voice, reality crashes down on him.

Mako's hands find Korra's shoulder, curl over them and push. Distance, there needs to be distance! ]

This isn't-- Korra was just-- that wasn't what I was expecting when I said you were happy to see me. [ As happy as he is to see his friend and brother in the flesh, Mako's going to try to pretend that had never happened. He shoots Korra a disapproving frown, wanting to tell her you can't just keep doing that! I'm with Asami. ]

Bolin-- are you okay? You aren't hurt?

[Still under the thrall of the curse, Korra lets out a quiet protest when Mako pushes her away.

It doesn't take long, though, for the curse to lift, and Korra practically cracks her own head on the pavement as she frantically scrambles away from Mako.]

I-I don't know what happened! I'm so sorry!

[Her expression is a little hurt when he frowns at her. She knows he's off-limits, and she would never do anything to hurt his relationship with Asami, or -- more importantly -- Bolin. Why does he always have to assume --

Well. Okay. This is an understandable misunderstanding. That she doesn't understand at all, because what happened?! She doesn't remember deciding to kiss him!

If she still had her earthbending, she would totally open up the earth and have it swallow her whole. Her life sucks.]

I............have to go to the bathroom. [WHY DOES SHE SUCK AT EXCUSES?! ARGH!] You guys should catch up. I'll...see you later.

[She keeps backing away as she talks, ready to turn and run from the scene as soon as she's done.]

[By this point, Bolin has cycled through the denial stage, the annoyance stage, and has landed firmly in the acceptance stage. He's been through this before, after all. He assumes- hopes -each time will get easier, though he'd really rather not test his theory.

In any event, he sighs, shakes his head and mutters 'teenagers' under his breath before reaching out and grabbing Korra by the wrist. ('CUZ YOU KNOW, HE'S TOTALLY NOT A TEENAGER HIMSELF OR ANYTHING!)]

Stay put, you.

[He emphasizes by all but shoving his finger in her face, and releases her. Then he descends upon his brother and drapes a companionable arm across his shoulders (which probably causes Mako to slouch a bit, considering their height differences).]

Hello, my most beloved of older brothers. Yes, I am okay, emotional turmoil aside, and no, I am not hurt. Physically. [pat pat pat] And while my eyes weren't exactly sore, you're still a sight for sore eyes.

[He means it, too.]

Bolin. I'm your only brother. [ Mako returns in a dry tone, amusement brightening his golden eyes. ] But you're not so bad yourself, on the eyes that is.

[ Doesn't matter that they're on the ground, Mako pushes himself up to his feet and reaches down to pull Bolin up, pulling him into a tight, hard brotherly hug. ]

I was so worried about you. And you, too. [ Yes, you, Korra-- Mako tugs Bolin along with him so he can include their amazing Avatar teammate in this embrace. despite earlier.

Pretending it never happened, remember? ]

[Right. Pretending it never happened. Korra can totally do that. She can push back the memories. She can ignore the way her heart skips a beat when he touches her. All she has to do is pull into herself and focus.]

We should get you inside. You're still kinda damp.

[Three-way hugs are nice. Seeing his brother again is really nice. They'd been apart for almost a month and a half on Bolin's end, which is the longest he's ever gone without Mako. He didn't realize how much he'd miss him, and now that they're together, it's like something that was vaguely wrong before is all patched up.

Oh, Mako, get this! So Toph's here, right- yes, Toph Bei Fong, as in, Lin's mom, as in she is younger than us can you even believe that???? Anyway, I told her about probending and she's already recruited her own team. You can guess where I'm going with this.

[Because probending is totally more important than sorting out timelines or whatever. Like, for real.]

[ Mako pulls back somewhat. He looks between Korra and Bolin, once more. ]

Woah woah-- hold on. Lin's mother is here? But she's-- how? Shouldn't you be more concerned with the fact that she's alive and younger than us?

[ Priorities, little brother! Seriously. ]

Or how about getting back home? 'Cause that would be real nice right about now.
