[ She had woken up like this... taller than her usual minute 5'2", her shoulders broadened, chest thickened. Perhaps the others found the experience strange, she's heard a number of people express their discomfort but... she is used to a certain disassociation from her body. She can still tell it is her own. The dark curls around her ears are one indicator, as are the scars around her wrists from the long months she spent in shackles.

But she doubts anyone will recognize her and... that is a relief for today. ]

Clothes
[ It's a bit uncomfortable, but she's managed to squeeze into a few pieces of her own clothes just long enough to get into town and pick out something else. She's not really sure about sizing... but it doesn't matter if it's a little baggy, right? ]

Breakfast
[ She won't be heading back to the Happy Hippo for quite a while now... That means she needs to scope out a new cafe that has good bread and a quiet atmosphere. She's a pretty harsh critic on the coffee too. ]

Volunteering
[ She doesn't have to reveal herself to help out around the community centers, although... that grey kitten following her everywhere might give her away... ]

the Blue Light
[ She may not be returned to her shifts yet, but that makes her feel a bit guilty. She wants to check in on everyone (and maybe have a small glass of wine?) She'll leave a nice big tip, she promises. ]

[ hmm, seems like that grey kitten that has been following slips away when something else catches its eye. it's only a momentary thing and there's some flapping noises and what sounds like very timid yelp coming from behind a bush somewhere ]

[ She hears that little noise, and for a moment thinks that it's the cat. Has he gotten himself tangled in something? She retraces her steps to take a look.

But rather than a distressed kitten, there is a playful one circling a little stuffed bird like a hunter. ]

What is this...

[ It's cute, perhaps a child's toy that has been lost. Either way, it isn't something for Danish to claw up, Anna imposes a foot between him and the bird before bending down to pick it up. ]

[ Kururu doesn't know the rules of how things are suppose to go when you've been suddenly turned into a stuffed toy, but she gives her new "wings" a bit of a flap to show her appreciation. she was definitely worried that she was about to be torn to shreds by the kitten...which was rather darling. ]

[Woops. Anna does almost drop her in surprise, but manages to keep hold. She still looks a bit startled, but she offers hesitantly,]

Ah, hello there. I did not realize you... Are you someone, from the city?

A ah!

[ she kind of squawks as Anna nearly drops her, fluttering a bit. ]

I, I'm sorry..! I, I didn't mean startle you. [ swaying side to side a bit ] A, and yes, though... I don't believe we've met.

[For a moment, Anna considers mentioning that she doesn't normally look this either but... Just for today, she wants to be someone else. She will got back to being 'Anna Assaoui' when this curse is over, but for now... She just smiles.]

It's nice to meet you, my name is Anas. The cat is Danish, but I won't let him claw you, don't worry.

[ kururu would be smiling too if she could, but instead she'll flutter her wings happily at Anna as a way to try to express the sentiment ]

I appreciate that. It's nice to meet you as well, Anas. I, I'm Sumeragi Kururu and I don't normally look like this.

It is an inconvenient form, but... cute.

[She can't quite get her speech patterns rearranged to make her sound more masculine, her body language is off too, but she's quite enough that most people haven't noticed, not beyond to think that the young man is a bit shy.]

[ kururu sways back and forth a bit, trying to get a look of herself and, well, failing at it honestly. ]

I, is it? [ . . . ] Well, I, I can't see so I'll take your word for it. Um, d, does...Danish do that often?

He does, he's very playful. I think this is normal for a kitten.

I've never had a chance to own a cat before...o, or any pet really. I've always wanted to though.

It can be... very fulfilling, to care for another living thing.

[Anna can't really handle being too close with people, the cat is easier.]

A special bond.

[ even though she's a stuffed animal, Kururu can still pick up on that feeling ]

It must be nice...having that special bond. It sounds nice.

[The stuffed bird appearance definitely helps her feel more at ease too.]

I believe there is a shelter in the city, perhaps someone there could use a home.

Really? I don't know if it would be okay if I did...I, I'm not really in charge of where I live now.

[ a beat ]

B, but I suppose I could always help out.

[A smile, and she motions at the community center building.]

I volunteer here, it is also very fulfilling to help those who need it. I like the idea of helping at the shelter, more than just my one little cat would benefit.

Okay! Th, then I'll definitely start doing that once I return to my normal self.

[ a little flutter here ]

I... I've been really restless lately, so I think this will help.

A good use, for extra energy.

[She seems a bit more cheerful with the idea.]

Would you like me to take you anywhere, Kururu? I know it must not be easy to get around as you are.

Ah, w, well... I don't have anywhere in mind. I, if it's alright with you maybe... could I come along?

[She looks a bit surprised but after a moment, she nods.]

Of course, Danish accompanies on my rounds as well. It's not a problem at all.

[The cat is rolling around contently in the grass, at the moment.]

[ she wiggles to look over to where Danish is before wobbling back... well as long as she isn't treated as a cat toy things should be fine. Anas promised that she'd be safe so there was that. ]

Th, thank you. U, um though I suppose if you do ever need to drop me off anywhere, you can just leave me near building 5.

Is that where you live?

Yes, or well...for now. I, I don't know if I should leave or not yet.

I would be happy to walk you home, for today.

[She keeps hold of Kururu carefully while making a few kissy noises at Danish to get him to follow her back inside. They can find something calm to do while keeping Kururu company.]

Why do you think you should leave it?

[ if she was her normal self, Ana could see the visible change in her posture, but seeing as she's just a toy--only her voice drops ]

Well... it's because I don't I really belong there. I, I mean I want to stay but...but I feel as if I've been relying on them too much.

It is not an unworthy goal, to be stronger for yourself. But that does not necessarily mean you do not belong.

But... I... I'm not even one of their team and it's...a bit complicated.

Relationships can be very complicated, but I would advise letting them decide if you belong, rather than deciding for them. Have you spoken to any of them, about how you feel?

I... n, no I haven't.

[ if you could see it, she'd be making a sad voice but seeing as you can't her voice just kind of trails off ]

That might be a good first step.

[Penny isn't always the most observant person in the world. She's not necessarily the first person to put two and two together. She does, however, notice an unfamiliar young man being followed by a familiar gray cat, and that's enough for her to draw a tentative conclusion...]

Anna?

[ Unfortunately, she hasn't thought far enough ahead not to react to her own name, and she turns to Penny attentively... before she realizes what she's done and gives a somewhat abashed smile. ]

...hello, Miss Penny.

Hey... I wasn't sure that was you, but I've never seen Danish follow anyone else around. Some curse, huh?

It is... interesting. Not too terrible, however.

[She's not quite sure how to explain that she had been enjoying the lack of recognition.]

Nah, not too terrible.

[Oops? That's not something that Penny will pick up on by herself.]

Thanks for helping out, anyway. Curse days make it kind of awkward, but it's cool of you to show up.

I did not think you would object to an extra pair of hands.

[The wateriest of smiles.]

[She gives Anna a quick hug and prepares to go back to her own work.]

[Anna manages not to flinch, it may be the physical disassociation to this body, maybe even the larger frame that makes Penny look smaller than usual today. But she does not exactly take the contact warmly stiffening and holding her breath.

There is only a moment's hesitation from being released to smiling tightly,]

[The unfavorable reaction is noticed; Penny withdraws awkwardly with a forced smile and a wave good bye.]
