[ It's late evening, which is quickly turning into night, and the blizzard is slowing to a stop, flakes of snow still falling down around him, but the ferociousness of it has calmed enough to be out in it, standing upon the masses of endless white, and in the middle of building a line of uncannily familiar looking snowmen. One, however, is distinctly a lady snowman because of the extra mounds positioned just so. He doesn't have a family to call his own, not anymore, and without really realising it this is the best he can come up with when regressing into an eight year old.

Clint's grinning, cheeks patchy with red where the cold's bitten him, and he's wearing the usual jeans and a t-shirt with a jacket that's far from appropriate. But he doesn't care, he's enjoying himself, maybe a bit too much, and there's a black Labrador - Fury - bouncing up and down in the snow with his tailing swishing from side to side and tongue lolling out.

He turns the camera onto the snow Avengers, seven figures standing one next to the other and distinguishable, and then grins into the device. ] So, what do we think? Hang on, don't tell me. I know. [ Far too serious, with a dry tone. ] I should've been an artist.

Between you and me, I'd love to see someone ruffle his feathers just to see if it can be done.

There is hardly anyone for whom it is not possible.

But there are some?

Of course. [ There are creatures without emotions. Hard to make those lose their cool. ]

[ He wonders about Loki, if she might be any use in predicting what he plans here. ] Always thought emotions were a weakness.

[ She could predict his plans, but letting anyone know would be involvement that she is not allowed; she is a neutral entity for a reason. ]

They are not, generally speaking.

[ He doesn't intend to ask, she's still a child and using her would be unthinkable. To him, at least, and he hopes Fury never finds his way here.

That brings out a smile, though, because she's the most reasonable child he's ever come across. ] Yeah, but sometimes it helps to pretend, right? Gets the job done.

It is one way of dealing with them. [ She knows all about emotions. Just not in their practical application, she's ill-equipped to deal with her own. ]

[ He finds the fact that she doesn't appear to smile much oddly comforting. ] S'long as passing psych's achievable, it works for me.

[ She smiles plenty. At animals. ] It appears to be.

So, hey, this bodyguard you got, he takes care of you, right? You've got somewhere to live, some place safe, and you're not left to it alone?

Mr Leon does take care of me, yes. I have everything that I need.

You ever do need anything? You should contact me on this thing.

Thank you, Agent Barton. I will keep it in mind. [ As though she could forget. ]

It's no big. [ He's not good at saying you're welcome, but it's close enough. He's got the weirdest urge to meet this Leon. ] Got another kid sleeping on the couch who never shuts up, so I'm thinking whatever you need could never be that bad. [ But he's grinning, and he's taken a shine to Stiles, so it's not as if he minds. ]

I do talk less than Stiles.

Considerably less. You met him?

Not in person, but I have talked to him on the network.

He's a good kid. You guys should stick together, keep each other company.

[ She appreciates what you're trying to do, but the insistence that she should have friends (and he is far from the first to make it) isn't very welcome. She can't, after all. She has to remain neutral. Friendship only endangers that.

And yet-- it would be nice. ] That would not be wise.

[ He never really struggled to make friends when he was younger, or no more so than he does now, but he never kept them for long; he remembers how lonely that was way too clearly. But she's not an average kid, or so he's learning, and he can't even begin to imagine how isolating that must be.

Being a SHIELD agent doesn't exactly expand on social lives. ] It's hard to find people you can trust, but something tells me he's one of the rare ones.

It is not a question of trust.

I'm listening. [ Because he's curious, both about the purpose of the Archive and the girl herself, and if he can craftily offer her what she thinks she shouldn't have, then, well. ]

I cannot get attached. The Archive is a neutral entity, and too much emotional attachment is known to drive the hosts insane.
