[There's not much noise, not while Merlin's sneaking up on Arthur who's still in bed having a bit of a lie-in. It's time to wake up, and with today, Merlin has the perfect idea.

He stops on the side of Arthur's bed and looms over him with a big grin on his face, raising his hand and...]

Good morning, Arthur!

[Dropping a water balloon on him.

And then Merlin's taking off to head back outside, because he's not going to stay and face Arthur's wrath, and the phone records his laughter.

Arthur has two choices; get some of the breakfast in the kitchen, or follow Merlin to fight him.]

((OOC: Okay! So this is a catch-all post, in a way. Threads can occur at any time during the day and sort of everywhere but Merlin will mostly be around the center part of the City, and the fountain. I'm going to go on a slowatus tomorrow but I wanted to participate and I need the activity so orz I apologise, and please put up with me being slow if you tag in.))

About that. I've had to save the kingdom many times because your father wouldn't use magic when it had to be used, so I've had it on my shoulders.

[ he has the utmost trust in his knights. He's Prince Arthur after all! ]

If I hadn't been there, that griffin would have killed all of you.

[ He remembers that griffin. It ruined his favorite spear. ] Right. And you took out the griffin all on your own. Like I'll believe that. [ give him some credit. He at least kept it occupied ]

[Oh, he's hardly saying Arthur couldn't stand his ground some against it. But really.]

Lancelot held the spear, I enchanted it to make it work.

[ he can't say anything against that. ] So you may have helped me out a time or two. It still doesn't count.

[ although he is grateful for the saving. After that creature bit him, he was pretty sure he was a goner. ]

[ He's almost getting annoyed. Maybe he should... ]

The Great Dragon told me that you're the Once and Future King destined to unite the land of Albion, and I'm supposed to help you.

And you're just going to do whatever a Dragon tells you? I thought you had more thought in that birdbrain of yours. [ although he's a little hurt. If Merlin was only with him because of something a Dragon said...

I trust him. He's kept things from me, I've been furious with him, but he's never lied, exactly.

[ He can tell, though, that Arthur's thinking something like that and... well.

When he continues, he's smiling, just a little. ]

But I don't do what he tells me to, not always. And if he were to tell me now that it was wrong and that I need to leave... for whatever reason. I wouldn't.

Well you do have Charlie to think after now. You can't exactly leave her in a lurch. [ completely misses the point but he does feel a little better. ]

[ He nudges Arthur's knee with his. ]

Not like we have a choice here. If we did, I...

[ The intention was to say that he would ask her to come with him back, or stay for as long as she did if she didn't want to. But he suddenly realises that he's not sure what he would do.

So after a moment's pause, he continues with: ]

I don't think I know what I'd do.

[pratful]

[ Arthur gives Merlin a pointed look ] You'd do exactly what you always do: act like an idiot and follow your heart. It's the one thing I know I can count on with you.

[ he nudges Merlin's knee back and stands up ]

Look, I'm wet, you're wet. Let's call this quits and get ourselves cleaned up shall we? I'm starving. [ get a clue, Merlin. You know how much he hates leaving hints all over the place! ]

[ Follow his heart. And if he didn't know what that wanted?

But, with a bit of a grimace, he leaves it be and pushes himself up as well. In the end, it won't matter anyway, because he won't have a choice. ]

Right.

[ he sees that grimace but doesn't comment on it as he shakes out his hair, frowning a little himself at the condition it was in. But, regardless, this wasn't a question he could answer for Merlin. It was one he had to come up with himself. All Arthur could do was attempt to distract him.

No worries. He had a few ideas. He'll get the job done. ]
