[ She's gonna keep walking. And then feel awkward. Should she say something? ]

I already have a cat. [ Look, it's relevant. Cat is more than enough pet for Faith to not!take care of. ] What are you, anyway? Some kinda raccoon?

{A raccoon? Pfff. He gives a headshake. Big firm left-to-right. Alas, his verbal explanation is pure Pikachu-speak.}

[ A beat, while she considers this. ]

{B-Bait? What is this Big!Person planning? She's not trying to get him eaten by some larger Pokemon, is she? His eyes go HUGE.}

Yeah that crap doesn't work on me. [ Shrug. ] Look, I'm not gonna let you get eat. You gotta give to get, right? You can either help me bag an ugly or scurry your kinky tail back topside.

{In a flash, the crocodile-tears evaporate. He likes this Big!person. She reminds him a bit of his old owner. All spunk and determination.}

[ It's not long before they're deep in the tunnels, near the larger, meaner things that go bump in the night. Ready little dude? Faith's waving you on, flashing her knives around -- she's got your back, dude. ]

{Like any tiny four-legged creature, he's acutely attuned to the presence of larger predators. Little sparks crackle from his cheeks as he skulks forward. Anyone up for a 'Pokemon Battle'?}

[ What. The hell. Is happening? ]

Dude--

[ She flanks up behind him, confused as all get out but hey-- little yellow raccoon things start arcing and sparking, she's gonna go with it. A dagger leaves her hand, aimed for the beast's eye and elicits a strangled roar from the thing as it pierces in. ]

{He watches the dagger pierce its target, followed by the ugly roar. Nice aim, Big!person! The sparks crackle brighter around him, and he focuses on the target.}

Pikaaa...pikaaa-CHUUUU!

{The thunder-bolt briefly illuminates the darkness. There is a flash. An atrocious scream. And a sudden smell of burnt monster-flesh. Mmmm, crispy.}

[ Faith is all of the giddy right now. She rushes forward once everything is all said and done, to pull her weapon out of the charred remains. She tucks it back into one of the holes on the homemade multi-scabbard tied around her hips. ]
