[ Coulson is standing in line. He's wearing a suit as usual and he's looking as cool, calm and collected as usual.

And I heard they have action figures. And trading cards. Original, mint or near mint.

[ A shadow crosses over his face. ] I need to replace some of mine.



[ ooc; SO uhm i could not resist the chance to have Coulson betray how much of a fanboy he is? buuuut the thing is, I must write my thesis and also there's a BBQ and just generally, y'know, life so I might not be around much today? I don't mind. One of the good things about this place is that everyone's got such different experiences—mine don't always seem that weird. Even though they are.

In your world, uh...are people's hearts important?

[debrief]

As in, the muscle that pumps blood, or metaphorically? Because we need the muscle to survive and metaphorically, there is a certain importance placed on them as well.

Uh...the second one? They're not metaphors, they're real. But they're not the blood kind either.

See...where I'm from, it's possible for people to lose their hearts—if something really bad happens, or if the darkness overcomes them. And sometimes, if their heart was really strong, the rest of them keeps going afterward. In a way, that part of them doesn't exist—or shouldn't. It's just...a Nobody.

Nothing like that, in my world. [ A beat, and he's trying to piece it together. ]

I'm one of the ones that kept going afterward.

Now? I'm really not sure. I'm not supposed to have a heart, or even exist. But I'm here, and...I think I do. Somehow.

[He shrugs.] You see why it's pretty weird.

It does sound rather complicated. But it's a good thing, isn't it, that you have a heart. And that you exist.

[ A beat. ] I'm certainly thankful you do.

[He smiles, and is maybe blushing a little too. D'aw.]
