[Most of Chekov's entries start with a nice shot of whatever project he's working on or a disjointed preamble. This one, however, simply starts.]

For those who knew them, Doctor Leonard McCoy and Theresa Gray have left the City.

[It was quite a shock to find them both gone once midnight had rolled around and the weekend's curse passed. Chekov is still a little too stunned to process the information himself, but it feels important to let the network know that they have left.

He pauses as if he would like to say something else. When no words come to mind, he goes with the sign-off that's standard when making ship-wide announcements at home.]

Pretty much, yeah. Things just happen. Like...

[She turns the phone around to show a vase on an end table levitate and move over to the coffee table. In the background, her cat hisses and darts off the couch, going to hide.]

Oops. Sorry, Desi. He doesn't like me using my powers.

Most impressive! Thank you, but you should stop, maybe, if your cat doesn't like it. Desi, you said?

Yeah. They're such a part of me, though, that it's hard to stop. But he's still a kitty, Desi. I'll bet he'll get used to it.

I hope that he will.

Lena, is there anything that you cannot do with your powers?

[She gives it some thought. Bringing someone back from the dead? Check. Splitting the moon in two? Check. This may take awhile for her to actually think up something.]

I doubt I can stop the world from turning.

[Well. That's quite a lot that she can do. Really, Chekov's deeply impressed.]

I don't think that is a bad thing. Stopping the world from turning--that would do no good.

[And yet it brings its own set of troubles with it.]

Yeah, we'd probably lose gravity, right? And go flying off into space.

There is that, yes. I like your magic, but I would be very upset if you broke physics and the world came to an end.

I'm glad you like it.

[And that he doesn't think she's a freak.]

Yeah, that wouldn't be my best day, if that ended up happening.
