[Unbeknownst to Gabe, the network is treated to this lovely, somewhat recent, memory:]

[Halfway through the memory, Gabe found the memory and attempted to shut it off to no avail. Now that it's over he just pauses, trying to think of something clever to say.]

[Gabe's still lounging on the couch where he'd put himself after failing to stop the broadcast, and he lifts the animals up and away from the door, gently, with his telekinesis so Charlie can get inside.]

Hey, Charlie. And here I was beginning to think I was immune to these deities' curses. Guess I was wrong.

Is that a common thing? Displaying memories?

[charring]

Yeah. It's happened to me. [Charlie watches Phantom for a moment, amused at how he just relaxes in mid air. Meanwhile, Petrichor is putting up a fight. She shuts the door behind her and carefully retrieves the animals before heading to the couch.]

It did it to me about a month after I got here. I don't think anyone's immune to the curses.

Yeah, guess not. A guy can hope, though.

[He makes room for her so she can sit and runs a hand through his hair.]

Alright, out with it. I figure you're probably going to ask me about it or something. You know: 'what was going on,' 'who was that chick,' how do I manage to still look sexy even in the face of danger,' something like that.

[A small laugh and Charlie sits, one knee brought up to her chest.] All of the above unless you don't want to answer any of them. The last one is kept mainly because I'm hoping it'll cheer you up some.

The what was a convention of gods. Thor, Baldr, Mercury, Isis, a regular collection. They were there to talk about Lucifer. The who was Kali...Kali the Destroyer, she's a Hindu goddess.

We had a thing.

Sounds delightful. {Not at all, hence the mildly alarmed look on her face. Until he mentions he had a thing with Kali.] I kinda figured. She was sort of all over you for a bit.

[Not to mention the way she was looking at Gabriel when she said she was sorry.] But then she stabbed you.

[He shrugs. Yep, totally not a big deal.]

They were looking for a way to kill Luci; they were testing a theory.

Don't worry, though, I got better!

That's good to hear. [Even if it is confusing as hell.] You gonna be okay? If the answer is no, we can always bake until you're alright and if the answer is yes, we can bake in celebration.

[ontheirside]

[He grins.] Hey, if baking's involved, I'll color myself pink.

But...yeah, I'll be fine.

[charring]

Good. [And she moves to give him a hug, holding Phantom out of the way.]

What should we make? What haven't we made yet?

action:

[ontheirside]

[He readily returned the hug and snickered at her question.]

Good question. Well, you know mw, I'll take anything that involves chocolate or strawberries. Maybe chocolate crepes with strawberries inside.

[And like a 5-year-old given a toy, this thought cheers him right up.]

[She's up, heading to the kitchen and gathering cooking materials.]
