[The video starts with a shot of a car that, to those who know (or knew) Dean Winchester, will look very familiar. It's impeccably polished, gleaming even in the waning daylight.]

I now have a car.

[He sits down in front of the bumper (a move indicated by some very careless camera work) before rearranging the camera so that it points towards him. Chekov is, mercifully, wearing clothes. Fairly nondescript clothes, but clothes nonetheless.]

I cleaned her very well today, although she may get dusty when I drive her back home... after midnight, I think. [Because there's nothing more awkward than spending the day with your 19th century girlfriend when she's naked.]

Before you ask, yes, I am old enough to drive and yes, I can operate a vehicle like this. I have a license to pilot anything as large as a military shuttlecraft, and that is not so maneuverable. The Impala is the first ground vehicle I have piloted outside of a simulator and, although I know very little about vehicles as old as she is, I think that she handles well. Maybe she would be better off with Sulu--he has many hobbies, and twentieth century cars must be one of them--but I will be careful with her.

I am trying to decide which is better: driving or riding a horse. Driving is simpler, but when I knew how to ride a horse, that was more exciting. Horses are easier to find, also. I have been visiting the barn where they live to talk to them--the horses. The brown one stabled there is a good listener.

[His somewhat pensive and subdued mood (not a normal mood for Chekov) becomes very serious as he jumps to a new topic.]

What I also mean to say today is that no one else that I know is allowed to leave the City without telling me, not even if you leave a car for me.

[He knows just as well as anyone else that no one can control when and how they leave, but it's a nice, empty threat to end the video on.]

I would prefer him to be here with his car, but this is not so bad. His car--this is a Chevrolet Impala from 1967. At home, it would be ancient!

[She laughs.]

Even more of a classic in your time than in mine! But hey, you were talking about visiting horses. That's great! Are you getting riding lessons?

Classic enough for a history museum. Yes, the horses... I hope to find someone who will teach me, but, so far, I have found only horses and no horse-riders.

Well that's sucky. Why are there horses here if no one rides them? Who owns them?

People who need to ride them more often, I think.

Until I find a rider, I don't mind talking to the horses.

Oh yeah? What sort of things do you talk about?

The things that are too serious to talk to people about, mostly. [He quickly retreats from any seriousness.] Also, gossip. I have heard that horses are good at keeping secrets.

Well now I'm curious just who you're gossiping about, but the horses won't tell me anything.

Please don't tell this to the horses, but most of the gossip is fabricated. I try to think of interesting things to tell them.

That's good of you, since they're probably bored no one's riding them.

They are not, unfortunately, bored enough to find my jokes funny. Clearly none of them are Russian horses.

Ah, so these are special Russian jokes? The must not translate well.

No, no, nothing like that, but the delivery is much different.

But no one finds my jokes funny, not even in Russia.

That's kind of sad. I mean, I think you're funny.

If he arrives, I will apologize profusely. In the meantime, you must learn not to take everything that I say seriously, even when I mean it.

It's best if you don't mention it at all. He'd probably over think things. And wouldn't that get annoying after awhile? Me never taking anything you say seriously?

Then if he arrives in the City, please tell me so I can avoid him altogether.

[He actually gives that one some thought.]

Maybe if you always fail to take me seriously. I can be serious.

[She chuckles.]

We'll see. You sort of remind me of his best friend, so you'd probably get along.

I'm sure you can. Maybe throw me a wink to let me know that you're not being serious?

Then I will just not say anything favorable about you in his company. It would be difficult, but I do not turn down challenges.

[Now he looks serious.]

I would wear out my winking eye.

[She's giggling now.]

I believe in you.

Would you? Well good thing you have a spare.

[Getting a laugh--a smile, at least--is always his goal.]

And now I must add intelligent to my description of you! Lena, you give me no choice but to compliment you.

[He's just going to give her a big head at this rate! She's so used to only a select few outside her family actually liking her, that she hardly knows how to deal with it. Probably by clinging to it.]

Then I have no choice but to accept it and say thank you.

[Oh, nonsense. As far as Chekov is concerned, all of the compliments are entirely true and it would do Lena no harm at all if they went to her head.]
