[ a strange text appears across Arthur's screen, scrolling with interminable slowness through the words. ]
Hear ye, Hear ye, Hear ye!
The Royal Prince Arthur Pendragon of Camelot wishes the following to be known.
He is lonely.
[ and then the feed mysteriously clicks off only to be replaced with a vision of Arthur taping photocopied posters of the same message to a certain lamp post, unaware of the shaky recording as his phone starts to work it's way out of his upper pocket.
Perhaps the phone felt sorry for the lamp post, under appreciated that it is, perhaps it's the lamppost feeling sorry for Arthur. Either way, Arthur certainly had not planned to get caught quite like this! ]

Oh, I... guess I shouldn't make you wait then. Did you need someone to walk you home? [ suuuuuuuuuuuuch an awkward turtle moment. ]
no subject
That would be very nice. I'd like that a lot, Arthur.

[And she would be. Sitting cross-legged on the steps, leaning up against one of the big statues, as she read a book. She was so caught up in it that he'd probably have to work a little to get her attention.]

Rain?
[ he stands over her, waving a hand in front of her face. ]
I'm not interrupting anything, am I?
[ he's tempted to steal the book, but he'll wait a bit more, settling on his haunches and gazing at her over the book. Her expressions were always so interesting as she read. ]

Oh, Arthur! You scared me!
I'm sorry. I was so caught up in this book. It's just wonderful!
[She was already packing it away in her ever present backpack and standing up to brush herself off.]
I meant to be watching for you, but I got all distracted.
no subject
What is it you were reading, if I may ask? [ he'll just stand and wait for Rain to take the lead. She certainly seems to know exactly what she's doing, all at ease as it were. ]
no subject
Did you? With good things I hope!
[She looked back down at the book and gave it a gentle pat even as she stood up. It's possible she'd casually reach out for his hand, just as a child might - if he was close enough and didn't pull away in any manner. If he did, she'd barely even notice, just continue on.]
It's all about knights and dragons and rescuing fair maidens and honor and duty and exciting adventures. I do love to read!

Ah, yes. Apparently I should beware of carbs and cafe lattes with whip cream are supposed to be delicious. [ actually are delicious, but he doesn't want to quite admit how fascinated he'd been with the whip cream just yet. ]
[ and then he laughs ] Sounds like a day in the life of my kingdom. Although, sadly, there are no dragons left in existence. [ beside the one chained up in the dungeons. ]

I love whipped cream! I think it's just marvelous! But I never had a cafe- thingy. I mostly have tea or hot chocolate. Or just water. But not with whipped cream. Water, that is.
[She smiled up at him, all innocence and happiness and excitement.]
Oh, you'll have to tell me stories then while we walk! About your adventures!
no subject
Oh, well... there's not much to tell actually. Boring things, mostly. But we do have a dragon locked underneath the castle. [ and let's not mention the unicorn... ]
no subject
A dragon?
A real dragon?
Locked under the castle?
Why is he locked up? Is he scary? Oh, is he beautiful and magnificent, but terrible? Does he eat maidens for dinner?
[She had hundreds of questions she could ask.]

Don't you ever wonder about it and want to go see it?
I would!

no subject
Yes. I guess it could be very dangerous.
[She'd still love to see one, though.]
no subject
And please don't forget that if you ever do come across one. They're not exactly the wise, noble creatures you think they are.
no subject
They're big and shoot fire and eat people.
But still...
I've always loved reading about them.
I guess they're probably more fun in books, though.

[Oh, she's all delighted again, now!]
