[ The feed turns on to flames in a patch of flowers, bright red in stark contrast to the healthy colour of the grass and roses about it, but they don't appear to be burning. Perhaps it's not a flame after all, but rather a particular head of hair - familiar to some, certainly - and then he begins to stir.

Up sits one Fred Weasley, bleary eyed and stretching with a yawn. He blinks a bit, taking in his surroundings curiously before noting the recording device and taking it with a vague sense of amusement. One more yawn and a lazy scratch of the back of his head, and then he speaks with a tired smile. ]

Not a bad place to kip, eh?

[ ooc; Fred returns to the City! He's just woken up in Xanadu, and he has no clue that he's been gone. This is completely open to 4th wall shenanigans of all sorts - only just don't tell him they're characters from a book, and anything from the age of the epilogue will be forgotten after the curse. [ Where Fred, on the other hand, is blissfully unaware that it's one of those weekends, that he's been gone near a month now, or that Gin's struggling with the both of them. He simply grins to all the world as though nothing is wrong, because for him, everything is perfect. ]

[ Joking, of course, back to the dead leaves and other assortment he'd 'worn' for her in November, without noting the relevance of it now being near the spring season. A better man might've realised the significance of his sleeping amongst the flowers, but he merely finds it amusing as he brushes still more leaves and grass from his mussed up hair. ]

[Oh, and that grin and obliviousness is enough to set her teeth on edge, to shove away the numb shock and the beginning threads of elation through her core because how dare he? Her jaw tightens, her lips purse, she looks like some unholy combination of their mother and her own brand of fiery Ginny Weasley spirit.]

[ Hermione's eyes are wide, and immediately grow wet, and her face is full of shock and confusion and emotion; she's happy, but she isn't entirely sure she believes what she's seeing right now. She swallows, flicking a tongue over her lips to try wetting her mouth, now dry. ]

Fred? [ Her heart falls to the pit of her stomach, afraid this is some trick of a curse, or illusion. ] Is -- Fred, is it really you?

[ Ginny's always been brilliant at covering her emotions, hiding the truth for the sake of appearance and pride, but Hermione's are more visceral and straight-forward, something like a slap to the face because he doesn't understand. It was easy to miss his sister's - Hermione's stare him in the face and shout 'look at me.' So he looks.

And he doesn't understand. ]

[ Because why else would she be so visibly mortified? Unless George has fed her something foul; that might make a mite more sense. He starts feeling about his head for any protruding flora all the same, a mildly confused and off-put frown on his face. ]

[ This place is cruel, but Ariadne hasn't learned yet not to hope, so she hopes. She hopes this isn't just for this weekend, she hopes he's here to stay, she hopes that... well, that George is sober, for one thing, that he'll see his brother, that if this isn't just for the weekend he can say goodbye this time.

But like other girls he's well-acquainted with, instead of showing that she's glad to see him, she's going to get mad first. ]

[George gave up checking the network a long time ago. He'll answer if someone calls him. Sometimes. Apart from that it's better to just stop getting his hopes up everytime someone crawls out of the fountain. He knows it's one of those visitor weekends again, so he's holed himself up in the shop. He has an office with a lock on it, which he intends on keeping shut.]

[ The first and only thing Fred wanted to do once he'd been informed (berated, really, abused) of his absense was hunt down George, but emotions were high and little to nothing made any real sense. He doesn't understand how a month could have past without his knowing, but he supposes it's because there's no passage of time to be kept where he was.

Wherever that is.

No, Fred had to gain some sort of footing before allowing himself to stand, but then he skipped the standing part and went straight to the running. Running, because the only thing he needs is his brother - and he's fair certain his brother needs him too. He knows for a fact that he does. So he heads to the shop, crack!ing into the main room because Merlin knows where George might be hiding. ]

[He can't. He can't. Not right now. It hurts too much, like he's being punched in the chest over and over again, knowing that Fred's probably here on a visitor's pass, that he'll be gone on Monday - but he can't not contact him.

Anyway, the video feed was already on, and so it's a little breathless, a little frantic when he finally gets out:]

[ Oh. They - haven't spoken since Christmas, however brief that may have been, and this is delightfully awkward. Hello, big brother, I've just been apologising for my death and you're roundabout the first person on that list doesn't seem a good place to start, especially after a month of his absense. Fred doesn't even know if Percy finally believes he's real yet - but he wonders if they've really the time to ask. He doesn't know that it's one of those insane weekends, doesn't know that the fear of his being a visitor is an underlying theme in everyone he's spoken to, and the list of Things Fred Doesn't Know seems to be growing.

But this is his brother. One that's been without him - and will one day continue to be such. Let's try this again. ]
