I've heard there's a bunch of people I ought to know floating around out there this weekend. Shame none of you have run into me yet, though for the moment I'll chalk that up to my being busy being incredibly brilliant and not staying still and having a new daughter to teach the wonders of the world to and all sorts of other reasons. [Despite herself, Martha finds that quiet fascinating, and she opens her mouth to ask another question before she shakes her head. No, this is what always gets her into trouble. She has to keep her head--she's gotten out of practice, not having seen him for a bit. Now it's hitting her like she never left, and she can't afford that.]

As for more specific addresses, it's called The City, because there's only one and no point having any other names for it by default. Not a terrible place, I s'pose.

[He scrunches his face up a bit in pseudo-thought and scratches the back of his neck for a moment.] Oh, not long. What's it now, nearly February? So... A little over a year. Really that's pocket change in the long run of things. And like I said, it's not a bad place.

Doctor, when we were... traveling, an hour was sometimes too long for you to stay somewhere. [She won't say anything about lost years, nope.]

I know! Astounding, isn't it? Kind of a fascinating place, really. I mean, have you seen all the different sorts of people? Like a sort of galactic encyclopaedia.

[Yeah, yeah. He's cataloging.]

Eeexactly. Cataloging. And having a bit of fun.

Pft. I'm not ominous. How's fun ominous? Fun is fun! Maybe you're ominous. You ought to have more fun.

Maybe you're right. [The past year has made her much more serious.] I'll try.

[He grins. Pleased with himself.]

Me? 'Course I'm right. I'm always right.

[She smiles, eyebrow raised.]

Right. How silly of me to forget.

[He grins. Great big.]

Corollary to the 'Always alright' rule. Always right as well.

Yeah, it is. I was going to anyway, but... Feels like it means even more, now.

[She tilts her head, thinking.]

Well... I've seen the world at its worst, you know? I mean, the job I did... I don't think I'll ever do anything that hard again. But it taught me that I can. And that I'm needed there. I guess... I know what I can do, now. And why I should.
