[ Rhodes has picked up a cat. One that's hissing at him, granted, but he's holding it up with one hand and scratching its ears with the other, unconcerned. He's also clearly mid-sentence when the device clicks on. ] — went home. And made me CEO, what did he think.

[ A sigh, and he doesn't say anything for a moment; the cat hisses again and swats at him. ] Guess I might as well take you along, get you fed a little.

[ And then he notices that his device is on. Rather than immediately turning it off, though, he turns to it. ] Tony Stark's left the City. Howard, Rogers, do you have a moment?

[ And then it clicks off. ]

A shame. But surely a blessing, for him.

Probably. [ Rhodey hates that Tony isn't here. But if he thinks about it: the nature of the City means that Tony won't be alone, Rhodey'll be there. Tony won't be alone.

That bit is important. ] Yeah, I guess he'll be all right.

You will miss him. [Not a question.] It is only logical.

[A pause, then she - smirks a little.] I myself have grown fond of his personality.

Of course. [ He'll deal with it better than Tony would, but yeah. Of course he'll miss him.

That gets her a raised eyebrow. ] Have you.

[asofwar]

[Shrugs.] Even the most stubborn of mules grows on you. [That's said with some affection, though.]

[warmachine]

[ That almost gets a laugh. ] That's one way of saying it.

[asofwar]

[Come on, you can do it!] Metaphors aside, he is an interesting man. I hope we shall meet, perhaps, on Midgard.

[warmachine]

[ Insulting Tony is clearly the way to go. In all seriousness, though: ] Yeah, he is.

[ And maybe he'll come back— but Rhodey should probably not hope for that. ]

Hmm. [But pressing matters -] Has he left instructions for me, or am I to assume I am unemployed now?

How do you feel about working security?

What would that entail?

[warmachine]

Making sure no one unwanted gets into the building or steals something, for the most part. Steve Rogers is taking over as head of security from me, but it isn't really a one-man job. [ Not even if the man is a supersoldier. ]

[asofwar]

A guardian of the gate. I do not possess Heimdall's sight, however.

Who's Heimdall?

The guardian of the Bifrost.

[warmachine]

[ Right. ] Well, I don't have his sight, either, and I did the job.

I know - I am aware it is a different gate I would be watching over. I simply found it ironic.
