[Dean is actually sort of hiding in his office at the police station. On one hand, he likes visitors weekend. On the other hand, he dreads it.]

Carver Edlund is a crack pot. No I won't sign autographs and I don't want to hear how awesome my life is but if you're a hot chick and you've a tattoo in an interesting place, I'll be happy to take a look.

On the Chief of Police side of things, hey new guys, don't be a dick. Capisce?

Yeah. My ass was sore through at least half a bottle of scotch. It was alright.

[She's just giggling. Well, laughing. Angels don't giggle. No matter how human they've learned to be.]

[Sure they don't.]

So get some coffee already and get your ass over here.

Are you presuming to give me orders, DeeDee?

[dudeimbatman]

Hey now.

Come on, Anna. You don't wanna see me?

[backseatangel]

[Suddenly she's standing behind him, giving him the obligatory smack on the ass.]

Happy birthday.

[Angels are dicks, right, Dean?]

[dudeimbatman]

[He bites his bottom lip around a grin, reaches out to put his arm around her waist and pull her into a kiss.

Yup. Angels are dicks.]

[It makes her happy, and a little sad, that he still feels this way about her. That he isn't with someone else. It doesn't stop her from enjoying the moment. The blackness from which she's pulled to this place can't quite erase that.]

[dudeimbatman]

[He's damn sure whatever he's doing with Faith doesn't count as 'someone else'. Relationships for Dean are hard anyway. After Anna left, they got harder.]

Good to see you, Red.

[he knows at least four different redheads in the City but he doesn't call any of them Red.]

[She reached up to cup his cheek a little, understanding.]

Good to see you, too. So what's this about Chief of Police again?

[dudeimbatman]

[Dean pulls away, keeping one hand on her waist and gestures to the office.]

No one else wanted the job. I figured, maybe I could do something decent here.

[backseatangel]

That's very... noble of you. Staying on the right side of the law.

[She's amused by that idea.]

[dudeimbatman]

[He smirks at that.] Yeah well, the right side here's a little different from the right side there.

[backseatangel]

I wonder if there ever is a right side. [Which is half of her problem right there.]

Pretty sure there's just a lower body count.

Sorry, didn't me to go maudlin on you.

[She gives his hand a squeeze.]

Nah, it's okay. You want some coffee or some scotch? Might have a couple of stale donuts in the break room.

[He squeezes her hand back.]

I'll take some coffee. I just want to spend some time with you.

[dudeimbatman]

[Dean nods, walking out of the office and disappearing into the break room for a moment. He comes back in with a coffee mug filled with black coffee. He passes it off to her and sits down on the edge of the desk.]

Wasn't sure you'd be back this weekend.

I'll probably keep getting yanked back here long past my welcome, Dean. That's how this place seems to go.

[She blows across the top of the mug, waiting for it to be cool enough to drink.]

[dudeimbatman]

You're always gonna be welcome here, Anna.

[He laces his fingers together in front of him.] Mom went home.

[backseatangel]

I'm so sorry.

[For his sake she is, she can't say she's not relieved just a little to not have to face Mary Winchester. But she knows how much his mother means to him.]

But I saw Sam's here.

[dudeimbatman]

Yeah. Sam's still here. [And that's said with such relief. Sam wasn't here for a while and it wasn't a pretty thing.]

He got to meet her.

[backseatangel]

That must have been something for him. [She's silent for a moment before she adds, a little softer.] I... I sometimes miss my mother. Anna's mother.

[dudeimbatman]

She seemed nice. [And then Dean pauses because he never met Anna's mom.] I mean...she did awesome with you so she had to be good.
