((Click, shuffle, rattle--the sound of hooves on dust and gravel. Not an altogether unusual set of sounds, given the source of this recording, if you recognize the Network presence. More clattering hooves. This seems to be a recording of the most accidental sort. But not surprisingly, perhaps. These seem to happen a lot with this one.
There are voices... Some low, rumbling laughter...
Apparently, the second half of yesterday's conversation is being continued... Except...is there more whinny in Our Man's voice than usual...?
Silence holds at first and then:))
Now if you'll apologize, like I know you're going to, I might just believe that you really didn't mean it.
((Silence again, but tense this time. Even if one can't see it, one can feel it: that's the feeling of a standoff...
It lingers--!
And then, the slightest of sounds: a shuffle, the sound of a hoof getting set properly into the ground, the movements of readiness... ... ...
The tension holds...
...and the recording snaps off again, as fast as it started up, and the sounds of all these horses and their strange arguments fall into true silence again as the device falls shut again in the same way it fell open: accidentally. And the recording ends with a--))
