125 Howls: Accidental Video
[Mercy's slamming stuff around 'straightening up' in her bedroom and muttering to herself, completely unaware that her device is broadcasting.]
This is just - dammit.
This is too much.
Jack. Ianto. Tosh. Donna. Derek. And now Mara??
I can't - I can't do this. Can't keep losing -
Dammit.
[She stops for a moment, then moves to kneel beside her bed, hands folded in prayer, with her voice just a little bit too low to be picked up, though an occasional name or sniffle might be heard. There's a louder 'Amen' and she stays there another moment, wiping her eyes before getting up and noticing the device. She picks it up and for a moment there's a close-up of her tearstained face and then the video portion is clicked off.]
Well, since I'm on...
Merlin? How do you feel about taking on some extra hours at the store?
And does anyone know someone who's good at paperwork - or just needs a job? Flexible hours, decent pay, just let me know.

I've been the only one from my homeworld for a long time.

And every friend I make here... goes home. While I'm just stuck here.

But you know, that's the way it goes in this stupid place. You get to know people, build relationships, and suddenly they're gone - no warning.

It would be much easier to try to just not get attached to people here, really. But what kind of life would that be?]
I don't think that should be a problem. Why?
Re: [Voice]
She put as many hours in as I did and -
And -
I think I just need a little time, too.

He keeps his tone light, a little joking, because that's what he knows best.]
Okay. Don't worry about it, I'm sure we can keep the shop whole without you for a while.
Re: [Voice]
Just might need to disappear for an hour or so here and there.

Re: [Voice]
There's no spell to help you get over something like this, is there.
[It's a statement, more than a question. She already knows the answer - and knows that even if there was one, it wouldn't be a good idea.]
[Voice]
[And he has a feeling she knows it's a bad idea, but he still says it.]
