[ There are some fumbling noises and then the sound of a thump: someone setting a box down firmly. The Doctor mutters: ] Lot of extra folks about today. Strange.

[ Well, he's busy moving. Not that he has that much stuff to move. When you wear the same leather jacket every day... Anyway, feel free to catch him in the hallway or later tonight when he's out in the City. ]

[ ooc: Open for anything, fourthwall away! Voice, video, action, it's all good. ♥! ]

[Rose tilts her head in confusion. She looks at the milk then back at him. She's very lost.]

I'm sorry. But have we met before?

[ If she's lost, it's nothing compared to the Doctor. He says nothing for a long moment. Was Rose dressed like that this morning? Could doubles of her show up, just like his other regenerations were? He didn't see why not.

But it bothered him more than he'd let on that this was Rose before he met her. ]

Sorry! Mistook you for someone else. You look a lot like a friend of mine.

[Rose arches an eyebrow at him. She's dressed in a hoodie, jeans and a long scarf that he might recognize with a beanie hat. Clearly this is Rose from a few months before she met him.]

Right. With the same name?

[She shakes her head and then looks around again.]

What happened to all the snow?

Well, if you don't know me, then it can't be anything but a coincidence, can it? [ Said lightly. ]

Well, you're not in London anymore. This is another place entirely. Called the City.

[She gives him this look like she is not buying it.]

But you looked like you knew me.

The...City? Right. Very original. What's your name again?

Well, you do look a lot like her. This person I know.

[ You could be twins! ]

I didn't name it. I'm the Doctor, nice to meet you. [ He waves dorkily.]

Right. Well.

Doctor? Doctor Who? [She gives him an unsure wave back as she mutters under her breath.]

Mickey's gonna kill me.

[ Snrk. ] Just the Doctor, that's all. Don't be worrying about Ricky. He won't even notice you're gone.

Okay then, Doctor. [ It feels odd saying it. ]

Ricky? No Mickey. And I'm sure he will. It's New Year's. So this City place. Still the same year, yeah? 2005? I haven't gone all Twilight Zone have I?

2012, bit after New Years. It's a little Twilight Zone. [ He smiles at her, trying to look reassuring. 2005. So this was the year they'd met. Funny, that. ] But like I said, don't worry. Stay a couple days, not that you have the choice, and Ricky won't say a thing.

2012? Oh shut up!

[She laughs a little at that cause that's really unbelievable.]

Days? But where am I gonna stay? I don't really know anyone.

It's only 7 years. Is that so unbelievable?

[ Now he hesitates. He can't just leave her to make her own way: this is Rose, after all, whether she knows him or not. ] With a stranger off the street? Promise I don't bite.

Or if you'd rather, there's a Welcome Center over... [ He points. ] There. They can help you out, if you're willing to wait.

Well a bit. Yeah. Not used to this whole time jump thing.

[And then there's another laugh before she thinks it over.]

Reckon then I'll take my chances, then, Doctor.

[She doesn't really know why but she trusts him. So she'll take her chances. Two odd strangers in one night, why not.]

You've got cereal to go with that milk?

That might be the case. [ He neglects to mention that it's her favorite kind, because knowing that would be weird. ]

[ And now he has to figure out how to explain Rose to... Rose. Both ways. This can only be awkward. ]

Have to warn you, you'll probably meet that friend of mine I mentioned before. Since she lives down the hall.

Guess I'm in then.

[There's a small smile to her lips as she thinks about what the other strange bloke as said.]

The twin? It's alright. Wait, she's not one of those nutters is she?

A nutter? [ Now he's really laughing. They can stand heading back toward the apartment. Don't want the milk to go bad. ] She's the most stubborn person I know, but not particular nuts.

[She follows him somewhat amused.]

Stubborn? I've been called that before. Reckon we'll get along famously.

I sure hope so.
