[ There are some fumbling noises and then the sound of a thump: someone setting a box down firmly. The Doctor mutters: ] Lot of extra folks about today. Strange.

[ Well, he's busy moving. Not that he has that much stuff to move. When you wear the same leather jacket every day... Anyway, feel free to catch him in the hallway or later tonight when he's out in the City. ]

[ ooc: Open for anything, fourthwall away! Voice, video, action, it's all good. ♥! ]

[ Well, that sounded like a response to what he was saying. Interesting. ]

Do you understand me?

[ To the Doctor's credit, that isn't said in a condescending tone. More like, hmmm. ]

[ Yay for not being condescending! In response the Doctor gets a whistle that sounds as obviously affirmative as he can possibly make it. Which would probably sound either condescending or overly-emphatic if you understood Binary, but you don't so he's just trying to be obvious. It's one of those few cases and one of those few languages where speaking loudly and slowly actually works most of the time. ]

Well, how about that. [ He leans down onto his haunches to get a better look, earlier caution abandoned. This is a machine. Either they try to kill you right away, or they're probably friendly, at least in his experience. ] It's too bad the TARDIS isn't around, bet she speaks your language. Can't make all the sounds, myself.

[ Hello. From this distance, he can tell that you're not human even though you look like one. (Looking at people in infared is fun!) He wonders who or what the TARDIS is, but it is a shame she's not here--

Oh, wait. He feels a brilliant idea coming on. Where's that thing he found when he got here? Oh hey, there it is! He'll just do a little hacking connect this fiddlybit into that port, aaaand... ]

Well, what do you know, it works!

... Um, but don't get used to this voice.

[ Okay, he's kind of proud of that. Basically, he's inputting directly into the network device, which translates his Binary into text, and then he's got a screen-reader app to say it out loud! So, there's a bit of a delay, but not a bad one.

Challenge: The default setting is a sexy female voice. Yeah, he's flipping through the options to try to find one that isn't so... yeah. ]

[ The Doctor laughs. He can't even help it. The incongruousness of that voice and that robot was amazing. When he can stop laughing, he replies. ]

Nice hacking there. Most people don't let their robots program themselves, but you're quite good at it.
