[ A solemn looking man with a serious expression appears on the screen, an impressive fountain in the distance behind him, and the sounds of rushing water carrying over the feed. He's wearing a white turtleneck jumper with a suede coat, brown hair looking flat and dark circles ring his eyes. ]

There goes the search for Cap. [ He sounds defeated, which rarely happens, but he says it with a sarcastic tone, masking the weight he carries with him for so far failing to find Steve in the wreckage.

He fiddles around with the device as he looks directly at it, now, rather than at the surroundings around him. ] So, anyone out there gonna fill me in on what the hell's goin' on 'round here or do I gotta figure it out for myself?

You're looking for a friend of yours?

Well, I suppose if there's any day when you might have a chance at it, it's one like today, what with all the visitors. It seems as though everyone's come to the City today, really!

[latenightfondue]

Something like that. [ But he sounds distracted, eyeing up the image on the screen with interest.

Curiously. ] So I ain't the only one stopping by today, huh?

[primrosella]

Oh, no, there are quite a few people about today! This sort of thing happens sometimes, all the visitors coming to call--which is why you stand a good chance of finding your friend, I should think, since there are more people around today than there usually are, and one never knows who might turn up!

[latenightfondue]

[ Looking up and around, mouth tugging up at one corner with enthusiasm. ] Interesting.

At a guess, I'd say this ain't the 1940s anymore, probably not even the world I know. Anyone know what brings people in?

[primrosella]

Well, the deities, I think. They're the ones who seem to be behind most everything here, though no one is quite sure how they manage it.

Oh, but I'm terribly sorry, I've forgotten to introduce myself, and I really ought to before I forget it entirely. It's lovely to meet you! I'm Rosella.

[latenightfondue]

Either the gods got themselves some serious juice or their technology is beyond impressive. I'd love to find out which it is.

[ But there's a beautiful young thing talking to him, and that is not something he's going to ignore. ] You got yourself a pretty name there, Rosella, and I assure you the pleasure it all mine. [ Bringing out his most charming smile. ] Howard.

[primrosella]

[Well, she is a sucker for charming. And it's always nice when someone new takes things so well, and turns out to have such fine manners.]

Perhaps you'll be the one to find out, then, Howard! I'm sure we'd all like very much to know, since it'd make getting back home again much easier.

Er...that is, if you're not one of the visitors, yourself. All these people won't stay long--only a day or two, really. So I suppose you might leave with them, yourself, if you came in with the rest of them.

[latenightfondue]

This place ain't short of fascination. Not sure I love the sound of no way out, but I'm always up for a challenge.

[ It's not often he looks confused, and it doesn't suit him. ]

Hang on. So you're tellin' me some of us come and go, but then there's others like yourself who get stuck here?

[primrosella]

Yes, I'm afraid so. People come and go all the time, you see, bit by bit over the course of the year, but then sometimes we have days like this when there's a whole rush of visitors all at once, and they never stay like we do. Really, I think I've nearly lost count of how many times I've seen them all come and go; I've been here almost three and a half years now, myself.

[latenightfondue]

That long, huh? And without a way out. Well, no offence, sweetheart, but I'm kinda hoping this is a short visit.

You got friends here, family?

[primrosella]

No family, I'm afraid, but I do have plenty of friends! So many people here are just lovely, and it's really not so bad after so long. One rather gets used to it, once things settle down.

Rose - you mind if I call you Rose? Or Ella - you prefer that? [ Because all the beautiful ladies need a special name that he calls them by. ] If this ain't a passing visit, you just made yourself a new friend.
