8th spell ~ [Video | Action in Mercy's magic shop or around the City]

[Merlin's looking considerably more cheerful today. Because it is a rather good day, City!]

So I guess I'm not the only one feeling a little odd today. I have to admit, it's not so bad, though.

Who wants a hug?

[Because he rather likes hugs, so why not.]

((OOC: /quietly leaves this here and goes to bed harhar))

[And Charlie's off, heading in his direction at a fast walk and trying to dodge the random huggers. This sort of feels like some kind of warped video game, in her opinion and she's hoping to spot Merlin soon.

When she does finally see him, she grins and hurries over.]

[Charlie's actually grinning more, if that's even possible, arms wrapping around Merlin in return. Of course she's fine with hugging Merlin. She knows him and trusts him so this hug is perfectly okay.]

Hey, yourself. You enjoying today?

[There's a very small part of Charlie that's convinced that Merlin letting go too soon would be bad. She'll stay where she is as long as he'll have her.]

You should have been here around Christmas time. There was cursed mistletoe everywhere. I think I like this curse better, though.

[Has he let go yet? Charlie sort of hasn't.] It's a weird Christmas tradition. Kissing under the mistletoe. People were kissing everywhere and the mistletoe just kept growing all over the place. I kept walking around burning any I saw.

[Well, okay. She'll let go, too. Sort of reluctantly but she'll think about that some other time.]

I'm not entirely sure. I think it's from a Norse myth having to do with Balder dreaming of his death. His mother, Frigga, panicked and raced around trying to prevent it but he died anyway. I don't remember how. She was upset. Her tears turned into the berries of the mistletoe plant and when people passed under it, she gave them a kiss. It was meant to keep them from harm.
