I have a question, City.

Is there any theory why some seem to be affected by curses more frequently than others?

Are there any other theories anyone has about the nature of curses and this place?

I haven't seen any pattern to the curses? Or, any reason for some who do get effected more to be effected like that. Maybe it's just bad luck.

As for the city, it feels almost like they're toying with us? The deities, like it's a game. They throw curses at us, make us trade away important things to get other things we need, people seem to be thrown in and leave at random no matter how long or short of a time they've been here. Maybe there's a purpose behind it and I just haven't been here long enough to pick up on it yet.

What are these "curses?"

It seems to be hard to pin down. They influence people in the city, some more, some less often, and can be physical and emotional changes, from affecting someone's nature to putting them into a new setting. Typically only last for 24 hours and any pattern there is is erratic.

I have seen it suggested that they're actually caused by hypnotism, possibly connected to the ticking, but I'm skeptical of that.

No need to apologize it's quite useful and I already suspected much of it.

What about the deities, do you know anything at all about them?

I've seen three around. Lazlo, that-- um, one that talked about paperwork, and a girl, I think? Lazlo mentioned someone named Mouse before, maybe that's her.
