[Action for Karl/Saya; Text for the network]
Black knight to White Queen. Be happy. I could make it 'Black King to White Queen' instead, but I do so hate for a game to end too quickly. I'll lessen the check-mate to a simple check.
I believe it's your turn now~.
[ooc: Rido will be careful not to have his environment displayed on the network. No polices. >.> Any responses have the option of requesting a change to video or audio. He might not comply though, depending on who it is.]

Action;
On the concrete floor, Saya lies on her side. She seems to be dreaming; she tics and twitches, sighing and murmuring. Nothing he can make sense of. But he suspects she's awakening.
Wonderful.
With an eager hand, Karl smoothes her hair back. Her pink lipstick seems out of place on such a pale, tense face. He can hear her heart racing.]
~Saya?
Won't you open your eyes? This place is hardly fitting for a Queen. But it'll do, it'll do. We'll repaint it a fresh blood red. Just like in Vietnam, hm...?
[His rolling chuckle echoes off the walls. Under his smoothing palm, Saya stirs again.]
Action;
[Drowsy. So very drowsy. All she honestly wants to do is lay and sleep. She'd fought off the lethargy as long as she could but in the end, she had had to succumb.
She woke more fully at the touch of Karl's hand, lids fluttering open over the deep maroon of her eyes. Her limbs feel stiff and there is a soft groan as she begins to rise up on flattened palms.]
... Karl?
Action;
I'm honored you remember me, Saya. But why shouldn't you? We're a pair, you and I. Both abandoned by our families. Alone in our own world, and in this one.
[He extends a hand, as if to gallantly help her rise. But his voice is dark with menace.]
~Come now. I believe we have a dance to finish?
Action;
Then she looks up from her position still situated on her knees and fixes a stern look on her face. She's quickly coming to now.]
Is that what this is all about? That?
[You're really starting to grate on her last nerve now, Karl. Saya's done her best not to hurt the Chevalier, she's done her best to avoid him. She hid with Haji rather than fight back before.
Now though there's no Haji around and she's even without a weapon. And having him sink to these depths, employing others to get at her...
She grits her teeth.]
Why can't you understand. Vietnam wasn't me. That was this... beast inside of me.
Action; 1/2
Wasn't you?
[It's an incredulous growl.]
Action; 2/2
[Inexplicably, his anger dissolves. He approaches her, his voice dropping to a chilling croon.]
This weakness isn't you, Saya. It's the lies of those cowards. The ones who've fettered you.
~But I shall wake you up. You'll remember your glorious self again.
[Once more, he reaches out. But it isn't a tender gesture. His eyes are aglow with bloodlust.]

She heaves out her next breath, watching him with wide eyes. Going through this the first time was rough enough, a second time was...]
There's nothing glorious about it.

[Evasions and excuses. Clearly, his bride needs more forceful means of persuasion. With a manic smile, Karl lifts his arm. It elongates into a greenish claw, a red spike jutting out.]
I'm saddened that you'd say that, Saya. It seems I must jog your memory.
Make you remember what are to each other.
[Perhaps he should flay off a layer of her skin. Perhaps the true Saya is lurking beneath. As ecstatic for their 'dance' as he is.]
[OOC: Feel free to defend yourself w/ a nearby pipe or something :|b]

Gazing only momentarily over her shoulder, Saya finds a pipe laying at her feet. She doesn't think twice as she stoops to pick it up, expression tight.]
We're nothing to each other.

[His grin shows fangs.]
Tonight, you are your true self. The goddess I worshipped in Vietnam!
[Preternaturally-fast, he swoops at her. A ferocious blur of glowing eyes and dagger teeth.]
