[ There's a bit of a crackle of audio from this device, interference for both of the cities before it clears up. There's no video, but anyone who's crossed between cities or checked out the paperwork should recognize the voice of one of the deity's helper droids. ]

[ Oh, so that's who this belongs to. There are a few minutes before the droid speaks again, telling her that her paperwork's been approved and she can go on ahead. ]

Okay, Eames-- [ Whatever she was going to say is suddenly cut off by a startled noise, followed up by the sound of someone trying to break free of... something. ]

You'll thank me when you get there.

Eames! Get back here! Eames! I'm not going-- [ And off goes the audio. ]

((ooc: Ariadne was just tricked into crossing over to the Glass City without Eames. ... and by 'tricked into crossing over' I mostly mean 'he tied her to one of those helper droids and left'.))

[ The fact that the device and video manage to click on at all is through sheer luck, as Ariadne currently doesn't have the use of her hands and her device is in one of the outer pockets of her bag. It's sticking up enough that Howard should be able to see her legs, though. ]

[ Her response doesn't come until later, as she can't exactly read the text when it's in her bag and her hands are tied. Still... ]

It's not my odds of survival that I'm worried about.

[boutant]

Eames tied me to a robot and then headed back into the Desert City without me. No, I'm not all right.

[boutant]

At the gate... thing... between the two.

[ More movement; she's working on getting untied. Or trying to, at least. ]

Do you need a hand?

Considering I'm not the one who just tied their roommate to a robot and ran back into the desert, I think it's a valid concern.

I need to get back over there.

[ Steve, you should probably stop her from getting back over there. ]

I'm on my way, Ariadne.

Thanks Steve.

[ She'll still be attached to the droid, still trying to get free -- or at least free enough that she can grab one of her knives from her thigh. ]

[He gets there not too long afterwards, his shield slung across his back, but wearing real clothes, not his armor. To his credit, he doesn't laugh, just starts helping her out.]

What happened?

[boutant]

Yes. [ 8( ] I'm attached to one of those robots in charge of paperwork for crossing between the cities. He went back to the desert side.

[boutant]

[ She appreciates it. ]

Eames happened. [ Once one of her hands is free, she gestures back at the sand. ] He said we should head through today, then when we got there, tied me up and headed back.

[punchedhitler]

Why did he go back without you?

[Because Steve is an advocate of freedom but he also wants Ariadne safe, so he's moving between her and the gate. That way he can catch her if she thinks of sprinting through]

[boutant]

He didn't say.

[ She rubs at her wrists for a moment, doublechecking her bag and her knives. ]

Probably to try and keep me safe, but I'm not letting him stay over there by himself.

Is he really alone, or is he looking for someone?

[He's watching her for signs of bolting.]
