But right now, he's paying them little heed, too busy dangling a frayed string in front of a rather hungry looking kitten. One paw swipes at the string, then the other, as though the animal's trying to learn the best way of attack. ]

I don't keep ham in my pocket, terribly sorry. All that dashing about gets everything a bit warm, and Pond would kill me. I used to keep bread for the ducks too, but you're not a duck. [ A pause. ] You'd probably eat the duck.

Not as difficult as I'd like. [She's lost him twice in her timeline and he's regenerated twice since she's known him. It makes her less certain about that whole 'getting rid of' thing.]

Jackie wasn't so bad. [ A pause where his expression flickers. ] Well.

Oi! Careful now. [It's mostly a teasing sort of warning. His other incarnations have spent enough time helping to rescue Jackie or with Jackie that he's allowed to talk about how bad Jackie is because he also knows how brilliant she can be.]

[ Laughing as he holds up his hands. ] All right, all right, don't shoot. I promise to be good.

[That makes Rose laugh as well.] In that case, I think I can let you go.

[ Tipping an invisible hat. ] Thank you kindly, ma'am.

[She grins at that and nods.] I'll talk to you later, Doctor. [And she waves then turns to walk away.]

[ Calling out after her with a grin. ] Don't be a stranger. [ He should probably take this cat somewhere anyhow.]

[She looks over her shoulder a bit] You either. You can stop by the flat or the shop I work in anytime. Cinna's used to the other two stoppin' by.
