Glass is perfectly well for letting the light and dark in or out. It's good for seeing in or out of without going out or in. You can write on glass and see the words from either side, good for practicing reading things backward in case there's ever a need to do so. It is difficult to keep clean though, fingerprints and smudges and the like. And I'm afraid I just discovered that there are some glasses one shouldn't look through. Ill timing makes some people thoroughly disgruntled. My name isn't Tom though. It's Jenny and I didn't mean to peep!

Oi! Jenny, you okay? What did you see?

People without any clothes on, or without many clothes on. It was something I shouldn't have been looking at but it was difficult to look away... that is until they caught me looking. I don't understand it. I mean I do it just... how embarrassing.

Can't leave you alone to explore for a minute without you getting into trouble, hmm?

[ She hardly sounds displeased; if anything, she's totally proud. ]

I didn't mean to get into trouble, trouble was just sort of there in front of me. Oh... [As if just realizing something.] Do you think I should have saved that woman from that man? Was she in trouble and I didn't realize it? If she was, she seemed to like trouble very much.

Oi. Your Dad is goin' to kill me.

Bit like a train wreck though, yeah. Hard to look 'way. You're all right now though, yeah?

Oh, I'm alright. Just got yelled at a bit. And he wouldn't kill you. He likes you too much. I like you too, only not quite like he likes you. Do you and my dads™ do that? Mush your bodies together without any clothes on? Has anyone ever watched you?

[Jenny is going to get a sputtering Rose for several seconds. She's also very, very grateful that Jenny is not there because Rose is bright red.]

No! No one's ever--[And then she stops because she's pretty sure the sex talk is the Doctor's job, but she's also fairly certain the Doctor will be rubbish at it. All the same, Rose is fairly certain she doesn't want to have this conversation with Jenny and she's absolutely certain the Doctor (neither of them) want her to have this conversation.]

I--it's--I love both your dads very much. [Oh, no. Well that sounds like...] Indifferentways! [That part is blurted out and rushed in one breath when she realises what that sounds like.]

S'not...like...oh blimey. S'just. No. I mean, you've seen me kiss the one that lives with us, yeah? I don't kiss the other one. Just hugs and the like. S'different like that. S'good you don't like me like that. I don't like you like that either. More like...you like me. Y'know?

[Jenny is trying to follow all of this sputtering and stammering, but she isn't that talented where sputtering and stammering is concerned. By the end she has somewhat pieced it all together though.]

I just hug them too, which probably the proper thing to do what with them being my dads™.

So you only kiss my dad that lives with us and you hug the one that lives down the hall. And what about the third one? Do you mush with him at all? He wears very nice bow ties, I could see how you would like him.

What? No! I mean...I've hugged him once and I'd hug him again if he needed it but he's a bit too...[She stops because she almost says young and that's not quite right.] Bit after my time. I don't know him as well as I know the other two.

Definitely the proper thing to do.

[Oh now she is burning bright red and she feels like a giant liar and oh god what's the proper protocol for when your boyfriend's very naive but almost the same age as you daughter asks you if you're having sex with her father? They should write a book for this situation because Rose needs one very, very badly.]

[Except occasionally she flirts with him and is/was sort of half in love with him before the other one came along and dammit it's complicated with Time Lords, okay? Very, very, deeply complicated.]

You're my aunt?? How is this possible? [Sorry she takes things very literally sometimes, Rose. Of course now she's trying to work out the familial ties while understanding that Rose kisses her dad.]

Dating. So as your boyfriend and sort of brother, he holds your hand and kisses you and takes you out for dates? What do you do on dates? I bet someday he tries to mush with you, Rose Tyler... which is very confusing.

After a sort? We're not married though so...but...[Oh God, choking a mo' while Rose realises they sort of are married in a common law sort of way. Give her a few. Right, answering questions. Much better than choking. And more choking because that'd make her more like a step-mum. Not choking is going to take a bit.] S'not so bad, bein' sort of like your aunt. He's not really my brother though, y'know? Just...sort of feels that way? He looks after me, worries for me and makes scowling, sorta scary faces at the boys I date. Occasionally punches 'em.

[Well that part is precisely accurate at least.]

Just the one that lives with us kisses me. The other one holds my hand and takes me out for...outin's. Not...dates. [Though, essentially take away the kissing and the outrageous flirting and the Doctor with the jacket does take her out for dates. Did even. She teases him, their first date, they had chips.

She mentioned it was very complicated with Time Lords, yeah?]

Mostly we have chips and eat milk shakes. Took him to dress up in hot pants once. Might have pictures of that. Occasionally I talk him into goin' dancin' with me.

[Oh if she only knew about the 'mushing' and how very hard Rose tried to 'mush' with the Doctor before the Doctor gave in. Well they would not be having this conversation which would be preferable but there was an important bit there. Best get to it.]

Confusin'? How? 'Cause it's your Dad and...yeah...I can see how that would be...doesn't mean he doesn't love you or anythin' like that. [At least this part of the conversation, Rose has a bit of experience with. She and Jackie had a conversation a bit like this when Rose got old enough to ask about Jackie and her boyfriends.] Just means...he's got different parts of his life. The work part and the Dad part and the boyfriend part, y'know? Everybody does. Eventually.

Confusing because you're like my aunt but you're dating my dad. And while I don't quite understand what dating is, I think I get the general concept of it. Is the mushing together that those people I saw were doing what comes after dating? So you get chips and milkshakes and then comes the mushing together without any clothes on? That's enjoyable, isn't it, what that man and woman were doing? Like dating?

[And obviously she now has a brilliant idea (she thinks).] Oh! Can you do chips and milkshakes and mushing all together at the same time?

Oh. Yeah. Bit confusin'. Best if we sorta go with...sorta...friend datin'...no that's creepy. Like your aunt but not really related. Just...your Dad's girlfriend and best mate? Plus your friend? That work for you all right? Most accurate really.

[So very, very red. She may never be any other color again.]

Yeah...sorta what comes in the middle of datin'. You usually go on a coupla dates, out for chips or what not and see if you like a bloke. If you like him, and you're attracted to him then...the mushin' sorta takes place...few dates in? [She's guessing here. Really her relationship history is anything but normal. She dropped out of high school to be a groupie, dated Mickey after having known him her whole life and then went straight to the Doctor. There were boys in high school but probably not the best sex advice there to give Jenny either.] Yeah...right guy. S'very enjoyable.

[And now she'll just be a hypocrit but it's different with the Doctor! And she doesn't know how human-like or time lord-like Jenny's physiology is.] You've got to be safe though. Use protection and the like. You don't want to end up with diseases or havin' babies.

[And she thought she was doing all right with the sex talk until the last part. ] Oi...yeah. You could. Very messy. Sorta. Too hot and too cold all at once. Sticky too. And greasy. [She stops herself just sort of saying caramel sauce is a better option.]

You know, I think you're right. Why would you choose to mush when there's nothing but glass between you and the outside? Seems highly inappropriate to me, not to mention ill timed. I bet the proper way to mush is behind thick walls where no one can accidentally see. Am I correct?

I'm not a pervert, I'm a Jenny. And I didn't mean to see them all rubbing against each other the way they were. It was just there when I looked to the right. Sometimes you have to look right and left and up and down and all sorts of ways.
