[Sam looks intact, if a little worse for wear. He spent a few days wandering, helping people out, checking in on those he could find. Eventually he caught up with Dean. Now he's trying to work out what's happened, and what they're gonna do about it. There's something a little stilted about him, mechanical.]

Anyone who's got information on how we get out of here, I'm compiling anything I can find. In the meantime, anyone still out there who needs help?

And hey, if we talk on a regular basis, and you can see this, and we haven't since this whole thing started? Really like to hear your voice.

Did Dean find you?

[Dean is sticking close to Sam in the safe zone for the most part. He's worried about the kid. After a few minutes he walks up to Sam with one of those styrofoam cups of Ramen in hand and a plastic fork. He puts it next to Sam.]

Eat. Before it turns to sand like every other damn thing in this place.

[Buffy has been lazing around working on her tan. The real action is usually at night so she wanders the desert at night with her scythe. During the day, she does the lazy girl thing.

She yawns a little as she approaches where Sam is sitting and plops down in the sand. She's burned across her nose but for the most part, the rest of her skin is a golden, brown.]

Checking in. How's it going?

[She can tell that something is off about him and that worries her, more than she'll probably admit out loud, that is unless she gets a good ramble going and things just start flying out of her mouth, which could happen. Anyway, she's got sand dusting parts of her skin and her hair is tied back with a handkerchief. There's a distinct scrape over her brow that continues on her cheek from one battle that got a little too close for comfort. For once she doesn't have a lot of makeup on, which she's completely self conscious about. But sand creatures and saving people is more important than eyeliner... so her sister says.]

I'm being all not!slayerific with a sword and a crossbow. Pretty cool huh? [She lifts the crossbow in the air kind of waving it around a bit to show him.] I look good with a crossbow. [Yes, it's an accessory, okay?] Buffy likes me using this more than she does a sword cause it's all long distance-y and stuff. But I'm okay with a sword too.

Yeah. You okay?

[Sam doesn't even look at it, or up at Dean. Maybe Jessica's still here. Maybe she can't answer. Maybe she's in trouble, or in the other city.]

Not hungry.

[Sam rouses himself, briefly divorcing his attention from his notes. Buffy looks in her element, actually. Radiant.]

You know. Crazy city, missing people, no answers... it's a day.

[Sam summons up a small smile for her possibly because she's not asking how he's doing but definitely because she's Dawn.]

Pretty cool. And I don't really blame her. She probably wants to be the one looking all cool herself.

Oh yeah, talk about an attention who-... I mean, not that word I was about to say. But just when someone else is about to save the day she swoops in and does it for them... with awesome shoes, usually, and great hair.

[She sets the crossbow down to tuck some of her own stray strands of hair back up under the handkerchief.] Me? I do the drowned rat look really well... but with a crossbow. Which definitely raises my cool points considerably. But also she's just super overprotective and she thinks the me being long distance-y is keeping me safer. Does your brother do that to you?

He tries. [Sam chuckles softly.] Then I got way bigger than him. And I wouldn't worry about the rat thing. I think you look fine.

[It's warm, there's a beach--sans water--she's got things to fight at night and days to sleep in. It kind of is her element. She catches that 'missing people' comment and narrows her eyes.]

Who's missing?

[Sam looks away, across the sand.]

Jess. Jessica. My girlfriend. I mean, before this, even. She's gone, I know she's gone, but...

You are way bigger than him. Dean and I had a yeti conversation the other day about you. It was entertaining. I told him he couldn't compare you to a yeti cause you aren't all hairy, thank goodness. So I just compared you to a door, cause they're big and not all covered in hair. Plus there's the not eating people thing.

[And here she's going to look uncertain for a minute. Just be glad she didn't make a door knob comparison... yet.] Cause... yetis eat people... right?

Still want you to eat, Sam.

[He sits down next to Sam.]

[Sam sighs.]

You gonna let up on this?

Nope. Might as well give in and do what I want.

Oh Sam.

[She's not sure what she's supposed to do. After a second she moves closer, getting to her knees and hugging him tightly.]

I'm sorry.

[ Her feed's coming from Glass City and keeps cutting out every here and there, but she's trying, okay? ]

T--re's a gate, someplace in--tween the two. I thin-.

[Now Sam looks uncertain.] I've never met one. I guess I don't know. [His brow furrows.] A door? You'd think I was some sort of linebacker or something.

[But he's used to it.]

You know I can take care of myself, Dean.

[But almost automatically, he picks up the ramen cup and starts eating, not even looking at it.]

We need to figure out how this place works.

[That's good enough. Sam hugs her briefly, with one arm, and lets go.]

Guess it happens around here. I just... Wish I could be sure she wasn't lost somewhere. I thought last time was the worst, but... now I can't decide.

[It's still the worst, watching her burn up in front of him, her eyes wide and staring at him. But the uncertainty eats at him now. And the knowledge that she didn't just go back home. She's dead. Again.]

I've heard that. [Sam perks up, eager.] Where's the one you saw?

Yeah. Sure you can.

[In a way, he believes it, but back home Dam doesn't need him. He can take care of himself and Dean misses being needed like that by Sam.]

That'd be good. Seems like there's another city here, alongside this one. A glass city.

It does. I lost Dawn for a few weeks. She just...went home. Came back and didn't remember being here. That doesn't make it any easier on those of us who get left.

It's ---- the forest, if that ... helps at a--. Sorry, -'m a bit new, my directions are awfu-.
