There is very little that surprises me any more, and yet such occurrences have become disturbingly frequent in the past few days. I can not say I exactly enjoy it. But I must admit this surprise is honestly the biggest. To find myself in a city I am unfamiliar with, surrounded by people and… creatures I am unfamiliar with.

[A wry smile]

And I thought myself well acquainted with all the corners of the Earth. Things change, yes, but they are the same at the core. Yet this place is… different. It remains to be seen if its people are as well. That I doubt. Some things are constant. Human nature is one of them. Even if there are… no. Never mind.

[He smiles and gives a slight bow]

Forgive me, without Sariel around I tend to forget my manners. I am… Mikhail Shifanov, dancer extraordinare. I do hope someone can point me to a theatre in this place where I may display my talents. And if anyone does see a youngish looking man, slightly taller than myself, with blonde hair answering to the name Sariel, please do let me know. His assistance is much needed here.

No, it does not seem to have been the intention of any who arrive here. Just as escape does not seem possible.

[He's concerned about a great many things, but none he's willing to confess. Instead he smiles]

There is an opera house, but I am unaware of a ballet company. There may be other dancers here. Thinking of commissioning a ballet again?

[He gives half a laugh at that. Oh, yes, just a joke for sure.] Yes, quite a bit.

Why not? If this place is deprived of such art it would only make sense to introduce them.

[And really, if the fiasco that happened with Hell's Ball happens again, it would hardly be the craziest thing to happen in the City.]

I had been thinking about it, to be honest. Although the only other dancer I had been aware of in this City is... [Blind] ...a little out of practice.

A lack of practice is something that can be remedied, surely. And I have little doubt we can find more dancers. Maybe not up to Parisian standards, but...

[He fiddles with the device a moment. Sure they've been skirting the issue of him being Lucifer and someone paying enough attention could pick up on it, but he really sees no reason to out Lucifer.]

Hell must be well populated. Do you suppose that was part of your punishment? To be forced to content with us until the end of time? [He's just curious in his own lapsed-faith way.]

Hell is isolation above anything else it might be.

Well, if nothing else, you won't have that here. Although I expect the constant ticking will grow to be... more than annoying in time.

Trust me, it already has. However, it is least noticeable when one is around others. So in general it's trading one punishment for another.
