[ Looking up at him silently for a moment before the frantic expression returns. ] We have to.

[ He stares at her for a full moment, before he’s turning on his heel. ] Come on then, we need to figure out what’s going on first, then we need to figure out how to get back out.

Rory can't be gone again. He was right there and he isn't anymore, and he's not reacting. She's called him. Nothing. He can't be gone, but that's exactly the place Amy's mind is going. What if—

[ Scanning the glass, just scanning it. ] This doesn't make any sense.

I don't know, the readings are all over the place.

[ No. No, no, no. They have to, to see that Rory's all right, to make sure he's okay, to make sure he's still here. ]

All right, give me a moment and I'll see if -- [ Fiddling with the settings on the screwdriver, trying to follow any sign. ]

Okay. Yeah. [ Amy goes back to her device, trying to call Rory, texting Rory, texting the ninth Doctor to see if he's seen Rory. Anything. ]

[wearafeznow]

[ There's nothing. He knows there's a way back into the desert, he's heard people doing it before. But his sonic isn't coming up with anything now, which is the main problem. ]

Reach anyone?

[waitedforyears]

Not Rory. [ Darkly. ]

The other you, the ninth. He says he'll look for him.

[wearafeznow]

[ More scanning. ]

[waitedforyears]

[ Just standing next to him, fidgeting. ]

[wearafeznow]

[ And there's nothing he can find, nothing he can pick up on. He doesn't know how to get them back, he's not even sure Rory is back there. ] ... Amy.

She knows that tone and nothing good can come from it. She knows he isn't infallible, she's learnt that much, but her first instinct is still to turn to him, to as him why he is not fixing this, to demand that he do. ]

[ Have to face facts. With a sigh. ] We need to talk to people, there's a way back and forth, but I can't see it. We'll figure it out.

Yeah, all right. [ Nodding. She's not panicking, she's fine, see. ]

[ He has no idea what they can do. He turns on his heel. ] Right, we'll go to the visitor center, see what people have been saying about this glass place.

[ Turning with him, though not without throwing another long look back to the gate and the robots manning it. ]

[ He leads her away, because maybe if she's not standing in the same spot it will be easier to make her see that they've got a problem. He doesn't think Rory's still here. ]

[ She follows him. Even now, that's what she does, always. Be there right beside him for any adventure.

Except this isn't an adventure so much anymore. Amy's never minded the City so much, excitement plenty, but lately she's coming to understand why people refer to it as a prison. ]

[ He doesn't let it sound like he's giving up, but he just wants to say it, wants her to know that he is, that he wishes he could do better. ]
