Oh! Sorry, I was just testing...
It's been a few days since I arrived and I think I've familiarized myself as much as possible with the workings and geography of this place, both high and low! And this device, too. Although it's still kind of strange to be using something like this, with all of these buttons, but I guess it makes communicating over long distances easier for those who don't have any other means of doing so, am I right?
But I've gotten off topic! I actually have an important question for anyone reading this!
You see, when I was exploring, I noticed that there are a lot of people behaving a bit oddly around the city! And I do mean a lot... Normally, if this happened in fewer numbers, I really wouldn't be the least bit surprised, but it kind of seems like everywhere I turn...
...well, the point is, does this kind of thing happen often around here?
Because I wasn't expecting romantic antics until at least the start of February! If people are going to be dispensing chocolates by the boxes, I'm going to need to get to work right away! This place is no Punjam Hy Loo or the Pole, but teeth are teeth! And they need attending!
[ooc: Enter the Tooth Fairy! Text because she's not sure if people would be able to see her or hear her otherwise; replies are welcome in different formats, though!]

Do you mind if I ask what else it was like where you came from?
Re: Text

...but why do you like it better here in some ways? Don't you miss your home?
Re: Text
Sure, I miss some things. I miss my kid. But things back home're pretty... tumultuous. And around here, other than the curses, things're mostly stable.

[Thinking about it, she wonders if all the teeth she keeps there in her palace are still safe. That is her biggest concern, after all, for they hold the happiest memories of childhood.]
[Speaking of children...]
You have a child? That's wonderful! A little boy or girl? But of course I'm sorry you're separated from them, it must be very hard. I hope they're okay where they are, that they're safe until you can see each other again.
Re: Text
A little boy. Tommy. He's four. And he'll be okay until I see him again. Maybe that's something nobody mentioned before, but time back home doesn't seem to move while we're here. When -- if -- we return back home, we go back to the moment we left, like no time had passed at all.
Text
[She's going to remember Tommy's name, yup! It might be impossible for her to collect the tooth herself, but she'll do her best to send the child good thoughts if possible. After all, a the first baby tooth to be lost is just as precious as the last.]
It's very good that time doesn't pass, then! I really wouldn't want you to miss that, it's such a special occasion for a child!

I suppose you might say my parents instilled the importance? And I've never forgotten.
Re: Text
Well, you seem pretty optimistic, in general. I think that helps out around here.
Text
[As much as a person can seem through text.]
Re: Text

Jimmy, I would say you're off to a very good start. It might not seem like much, but it's a good foundation, and when you think about it, that's the most important building block.
[Wonder if she'll be singing this same tune after she experiences a handful of curses for herself.]
What do you do here? For work, I mean!
Re: Text
You heard about the Welcome Center? If you don't have somewhere to stay just yet, you can stay there. They're real great when it comes to new arrivals.
Text
[Tooth hesitates, because the concept of the Welcome Center is spectacular, and she's only heard good things about it so far, but she isn't sure she likes the idea of being so closely cooped up with so many strangers. But if it's only temporary...]
That might be an option! I'll have to give it some thought!

You know, the more people I talk to, the more this is starting to seem like a very tight-knit community. It feels nice. And it helps more than anything else, I think.
