001: Video; Paging: two bitties and a thingie.
[ He was never one for flashy intros, never one to be heard. Seen, yes, but not heard very often. While there were those who went about in their confusion and panic, the more curious asking about here and there, this particular one was calm and cool as you please.
He knew what he needed. Nothing else mattered.
There was a rather distinct furrow of frustration in his brow and the slightest glint of magenta in those gold eyes as he glanced at the device. Almost as if he had no choice but to use it if he wanted to get his message across.
He knew what he needed. Everything else would come from there.
It pulled at him like an incessant fishhook, itched like a mosquito that wouldn't leave him well enough alone.
When Claude finally speaks, his statement is rather clear.
Straight to the point. ]
My name is Claude Faustus. I serve Lord Trancy as the butler of the Trancy household.
[ A pause as he adjusts his glasses. ]
I believe my [ A touch of acid in his tone at the word. ] master, Alois Trancy is in residence. If anyone would be so kind as to direct me to him?

video;
...I'll come to you.
[ Handy thing, that contract. Worked as a damn GPS when he needed it. ]
action;
He switches the camera off and runs down the corridors of the Manor. He doesn't have a heartbeat anymore, and that's a luck because if he had, its wild pounding would be unbearable right now.
Now he's standing on the doorstep, with tears running down his face, desperately scanning the path that leads to the Manor. His eyes are so full of tears his sight is blurred, but he doesn't want to blink. He doesn't want to miss even a single second of the sight of his butler appearing.
It's a reminiscence of what happened in Nirvana. He was standing in that sea of bluebells, much calmer than he is now, and suddenly he saw Claude walking towards him. Coming back to him. Like he swore he always would.
And once again, Alois is standing alone, waiting only for him.]
action;
The feeling is foreign to him. There's something amiss as he approaches the manor. There's something about this he doesn't like and it has nothing to do with the boy about to welcome him to his newfound prison.
But there would be time for that later.
For now, he approaches, the ever familiar figure. Unchanging at the very least. Upon sight of his master, the mask goes up once more. Time to play the ever loyal servant to this impetuous brat until this all makes sense. He only stops to deliver a bow from the waist. The perfect sign of his obedience. ]
I apologize for making you wait.
action;
Yet there's no need for apologies. Alois has already forgiven Claude the moment he came back to him, just like he always will.
Claude does indeed look like an approaching storm, but that doesn't concern Alois. He's too much in love with Claude to feel threatened by his demonic nature, like he rightfully should. Instead, now he feels protected. He feels that Claude would be able to kill anything that might possibly want to keep them apart.]
You made me wait so long. [His voice comes out like little more than a choked whisper. He's overwhelmed by the flow of tears as he throws his arms around Claude's middle and hides his face against his chest, sobbing.]
action;
When he speaks, it's devoid of the earlier urgency. ]
How long has it been?
[ But that hand stills its movement as he cups Alois' cheek to brush away a single tear. ]
But does that really matter?
action;
It doesn't matter. Because you're here now. But don't ever leave my side again, Claude. Please. [And he's overwhelmed by sobs again.] Ciel said you would never come back. But I knew you would. I knew--
action;
Well, as normal as a spider high on something can get. ]
It doesn't matter.
[ And those tears are brushed away again before he lets go, hands on the boy's shoulders as he reuses old techniques. These selfsame motions that worked time and time again to soothe the child: the same light strokes over his hair, the same arm drawing him close. ]
Such faith in me, master.
action;
Where is Hannah? Were you alone with her back home when I and Luca arrived here?
action;
Though no comment here. She was with the twins when he last saw-- no, she'd gone with him in that escape attempt, hadn't she? There's a slight glimmer of malice in his eyes. Aiding and abetting. ]
She was... at the manor last I saw of her.
[ Aaaaaaaand tip off. This one isn't your Claude, kiddo. ]
action;
action; oh shit
He can lie. He can lie. He can lie.
No, no he can't bloody lie when it's phrased like that, not when the contract is in effect. He remains stoic as he speaks, however, the only motion being his pushing his glasses up. ]
...underneath a tree beneath a blue moon.
[ That should be enough of an answer. ]
Action. Yeah. Oh shit
You-- [He clasps a hand over his mouth. He doesn't want to throw up, but he really feels like he's about to. It can't be true. Not after all he's done to make Claude acknowledge him. Not after all they've shared in Nirvana.] You just killed me. [And he's backing up now. He's crying so hard he cannot even breathe anymore. Taking one step after another away from Claude. He wishes he had the strength to run away, to order Claude to never show up again, but he doesn't. Despite everything he went through, he still loves Claude. And he always will.
But Ciel was right. Claude can still hurt him.]
Re: Action. Yeah. Oh shit
What's up with that?
But no, no outward sign of confusion but this is still a lot to take in. Suddenly, this chess game is getting far too complicated with all these new rules.
A moment to adjust his glasses as he watches the boy with now-visible contempt. ]
It was necessary.
action
His words make him laugh. Because he doesn't need Claude to tell him this fairy-tale. This one is a story he himself wrote.] Of course it was! So you could use me as a tool to obtain Ciel. [The memory is incredibly vivid in his mind. He's standing on the top of that bloody tower, watching Claude read the last question of the maze. He remembers how Claude had tried to lie, to say he'd killed Alois because of his burning feelings for him. He remembers wanting Claude to lie to him, to allow him to believe in his self-made fairy tale for a little longer. But he won't stand for that anymore. Not after having experienced what it means to have Claude (his demon, his butler, his love) being completely devoted to him in Nirvana.]
You remember when you used to read me bedtime fairy tales? Now for once I have the most interesting story to tell you, Claude. It's about what happened after you crushed my fucking skull. [He's still smiling, even though there are tears running down his face. He wishes he could bring himself to hate Claude just a little bit, but that's a lost cause.]
action; /s-slowly brings out new file of scheming
But he took it, took the crying and the cursing and the unbridled truth that now stared him in the face. Perhaps there would be something left for him yet, picking on the bones of what information he could take.
Though he says nothing, it's that stalwart, rather rigid look that challenges the boy to go on with his story. ]
action;
I'll take that as a fucking yes. [And there's a note of hysteria in his voice. He's still crying.] After you crushed my skull and put me into a fucking ring, you kidnapped Ciel and did some sort of weird demon ritual. You put both out souls into the same body. [He laughs, even though this is the least funny thing he can think of.] You thought you could eat the both of us! But I couldn't let you betray me like that, Claude. You swore to me you would never leave my side. [His tone is dangerous. He's incredibly angry. If he didn't love Claude so much, he would have already gouged his eyes out by now.] That's why I made a contract with Hannah. I set everything up to have you and Sebastian try to kill each other, and you lost the duel. Sebastian killed you. [His voice cringes a little. He remembers very well how he'd cried out when he'd sensed Claude had died. It felt as if his own heart had been stabbed.] After that, you came back to me, in another dimension. You swore you'd never leave me again, you said I was your only Master. But of course you don't bloody remember this. [And this is where his smile becomes more wicked.] But even if you had won that duel, I would have never let you have Ciel's soul. That's why I turned him into a demon, as part of the contract. And he's still a demon now. [He looks at you straight in the eyes. Right now, Claude, you are the butterfly trapped in his spiderweb.] There is no soul to eat anymore. As long as I exist, you will never have him. [Because if he cannot have Claude's love, then nobody will.]
action; 1/2
Wrong, wrong, wrong, suffice to say.
But with this information, if he could manage to get himself home, what would he do with it? Eliminate Hannah came to mind. Perhaps underestimating her was a fool move. There's an evident furrow in his brow in frustration as he considers this. All of this.
His ruined plans.
Losing the chance to feed on not one but both souls.
The fact he LOST to Sebastian.
Of all the days annoyances this. ]
action; 2/2
And what do you intend after, master?
action;
Alois feels a horrible tightness in his chest, so unbearable that it makes him bend in two. Claude's cold gaze makes him suffer so much it hurts even on a physical leve.] Just keep in mind that I won't let you kill me a second time, Claude. [If Hannah were here, Alois would do the same thing he did back home. He'd contract her to save himself from Claude. But he's far more vulnerable now that he was back then. Still, he wants to fight back.]
action;
He straightens up, resuming the same position that would remind one of a rather stalwart statue. ]
Master is aware of my deeds then.
[ It was mere hours ago that he'd felt that warm blood on his hands and now everything was unraveling before him. ]
What would you have me do then?
[ The contract still held. Alois could order him away with a single word, banish him for all eternity, sever it perhaps... but he was patient. ]
