17 - video/action for the Desert City

[She thought she put a filter on, but in her state, she didn’t quite press the right buttons and this video gets broadcast to everyone.]

Tyr…

[Her voice is unstable, tears and sand streamed all over her face as she sniffs while letting out a few uncontrollable sobs. She’s trying to be strong for him, but it’s hard at this moment when it takes all of her energy to move, and her throat is tight and dry, making it difficult and painful to speak.]

Rita is…

[She can’t even complete the sentence before she starts crying again as she puts her hand over her mouth, accidentally inhaling some sand as she coughs.]

Rita is dead… it’s my fault… I should have been there.

[That’s all she can say before she ends the feed, unable to really face him and the guilt she feels for letting this happen.]

[Slow going as it is, she isn't far away now. This would be so much easier if Ba'ul was with her... though at least if he had to be stuck somewhere, he's stuck somewhere safe. It's not too long before she sees Estelle, but before she greets her she takes a moment to take care of a monster that seemed to be wondering whether the very sad girl over there was tasty. The last thing she needed was monsters piling in right now.]

[Thanks to Carla, Estelle can be seen standing up, making her way towards the safe zone, even if it is a fair distance away. She plops back down before she starts crawling with what little strength she has. She promised Carla she'd get there, and that's a promise she intends to keep.]

[When Judith looks back to where Estelle had been a moment before, she... isn't there. Where did she--? Oh, there she is, crawling away. At least there don't seem to be any monsters watching her this time.]

Estelle!

[She calls out, and then moves to catch up with her friend.]

Judith!

[She stops as she looks up through the sand and her tears at the Krytian. There's nothing she really can say since she knows full well that Judith can take care of herself amidst all these monsters. Assuming a healing position, she casts a quick healing spell on her friend for good measure.]

...need to go to the safe zone!

[Because she promised.]

[Judith can take care of herself, but she's grateful for the healing nonetheless. She'd gotten her fair share of scratches out here, even if there was nothing too worrisome. She nods at the request.]

I was going to suggest that, anyway.

[Looking around, she wonders what happened to Rita's body, but figures right this moment probably isn't the best time to ask.]

[Estelle's glad she doesn't ask as she tries to stand up let another time, and yet another time it's unsuccessful. Her legs her like jelly underneath her as she collapses back to the ground. Rita's death has taken a toll on her physically as she thinks back upon her torn and bloodied body once more and does her best not to vomit at the thought. No, she needs to clear her mind, but that's easier said than done.]

[Estelle really is in pretty sorry shape, isn't she? Judith is glad she was able to get here as quickly as she did.]

Here, I'll help you.

[She kneels down next to her, taking hold of one of Estelle's hands and pulling her arm so it rested across her shoulders. Then, slowly, she stands up again, supporting Estelle with her.]

[She's grateful for that help considering her current state. She offers no resistance as she does her best to grab on to Judith's shoulder and keep a decent grip on it.]

Can you walk?

Yes.

[She just needs the support right now. Taking a step, she manages to stay up with Judith's assistance. One foot in front of the other. She'll be fine as long as Judith doesn't let go.]
