For all of you that, y'know, just randomly arrived here, welcome. You'll only be here for the weekend, so don't get too concerned about it. Consider it, uh, a vacation, or somethin'. You can ask me questions, if you want, but I gotta say, a whole lot of this place don't make much sense.

[A long pause of indecision, and then finally...]

'n if I know you... I mean, if I know you from home, if there's any chance you're out there... just lemme know, okay?

That's what happens here. Most of the people I met when I first came to the City wouldn't be recognized if they showed up. It happens everywhere. Sometimes we don't even need to be gone to be forgotten.

Yeah, maybe that's true. It's just kinda depressin' to think about, y'know? Thinkin' that it could happen to us back home, too.

I have a son. But he's young. He won't remember. Not really.

Maybe. There's a friend of mine, he might tell him. My mom might, too, but...

I'd rather she stays the fuck away, y'know?

Mine was more a lack of a relationship. She couldn't be bothered.

There are worse parents. [Like his dad, who just up and went. Justin and Jimmy might have turned out better if their home lives hadn't sucked.]
