[ At first, the lines on the page are slow to appear. The one behind the quill is mindful of the looming presence of the staff member on duty for detention. Al's never been good at this school business nor containing his enthusiasms. Though it's only a matter of hours before his release and he's been assigned with a relatively harmless, if not tedious, task, he's decided to make the most of the evening on his own terms while supervision is lax. ]

[ He's about to snap. He can't sit anymore and pretend to be organizing books or-- KABOOM! It's the sweetest symphony that he's ever heard. Nobody needs to tell Al twice to run like hell, he's up and flying from his seat and through the smoke and sparks. There's what appears to be a familiar figure amidst the chaos. He's never been happier to see you, Jimmy. ]

That's right before he grabs the man around the arm and tugs him along as they get the hell out of dodge. Seriously, man. You're the best. ]

[C'mon Al, he can't run as fast as you can, but he's doing his best to keep up -- or be tugged along. As soon as they get somewhere safe, he'll slow his pace a little.]

Okay, okay, I doubt they're chasin' after us.

[ Forgive his enthusiasm. Something about getting the blood pumping with excitement and ~~potentially making situations worse than they are~~ really living just come naturally to some people. When he finally gets the hint and comes to a halt, he takes a moment to breathe through the excited laughter. ]

[He shrugs, leaning against the wall to catch his breath.]

Gettin' killed. Comin' back from the dead. Gettin' tortured. The normal shit.

[ Once he's calmed down, Al gives Jimmy some distance. He's eying the ceiling, hands in his pockets, not sure of the right thing to say here. ]

[He shrugs. It should probably strike him as weird that he remembers everything that happened so distinctly, considering he's also entirely convinced that he's actually at a magical school and is a Gryffindor seventh year student, but the City does some weird shit.]

Well, anyway, ain't like I planned it. 'n besides, I got other stuff to worry about now. Like studyin' for exams. And breakin' you outta detention.

[ He wafts his hand dismissively. ]

You needed the break. They stack the odds against you with those things you know. Set you up for failure.

[Theo has been completely oblivious to the whole Hogwarts thing. What he does know is that he's come to work and no one is there. So when he sees the communication he immediately jumps it.]

Al? What the fuck is with the hangman? Why are you at work?

[ As Theo speaks, the video feed begins to fumble wildly. Al disappears from the screen momentarily and when he returns he's eying someone just off-screen. Once he's in the clear, he mouths two words to Theo.

Shut. Up. ]

[After muttering that he flips to text. Don't say he doesn't do anything for you.]

What are you doing?

I'm detained until further notice.

[Sigh.]
