I don't usually say this, but is anyone else just through with revising? At this point, if I finish the work or not, I feel like I'm not going to learn anything else.

Anyway, who has plans for Quidditch this weekend? Anyone want to go with me?

[ooc: replies from [personal profile] instars - Miss Wallace is a sixth year half-blood Ravenclaw, not on the Quidditch team, feel free to say your character has classes or sees her around school! She also has a bad tendency to get called out for wearing non-regulation shoes, but she cannot help it, she loves her heels!]

[Laughing.] Maybe, but that's not what I meant. Studying hard isn't just for Ravenclaws, I've come to know.

Sometimes we don't study at all.

Don't tell the headmaster.

Not all Hufflepuffs work hard.

I thought your house took the rest in.

But it's true.

[personal profile] brobeforehos 2013-11-15 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, yes, by logic it would be. If there are four Houses in Hogwarts, and Ravenclaw, Slytherin and Gryffindor get seventy percent of the students, Hufflepuff would get the rest.
instars: (Saya - unsure)

[personal profile] instars 2013-11-15 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know if logic works quite that way.
brobeforehos: (fanfiction)

[personal profile] brobeforehos 2013-11-15 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Logic works exactly that way, it's Maths.
instars: (Saya - back)

[personal profile] instars 2013-11-15 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that implies that the rest of the school is more important than Hufflepuff.
brobeforehos: (yeah i got this)

[personal profile] brobeforehos 2013-11-15 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Not to me it doesn't.

House loyalty?
instars: (Saya - watching)

[personal profile] instars 2013-11-15 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
That's admirable.

Seventy-five percent.

Please. We both know everyone wants to be in Hufflepuff, we get thirty percent.

Everyone who can't divide 100 by 4, certainly.

[personal profile] brobeforehos 2013-11-15 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
A hundred percent doesn't have to be one hundred students, it can easily be eighty. The point is, it's not an equal division, and this isn't even the point.
goodboysgood: (WHISPERS)

[personal profile] goodboysgood 2013-11-15 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
The point is, you were talking percentages and 100 percent divided by four is always the same.

Eighty divided by four is twenty, if you were curious.

[personal profile] brobeforehos 2013-11-15 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You're just being nitpicky now, Ravenclaw. Suppose eighty first years arrive, of which fifteen get sorted into Ravenclaw, twenty into Slytherin, and twenty-one into Gryffindor, leaving the Hufflepuff with a lovely number of twenty-four students. Thirty percent of eighty students.

[personal profile] goodboysgood 2013-11-15 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not being nitpicky, you're introducing additional clauses to your initial proposal to try to avoid looking like you made a mistake.

Not really working, I'm afraid.
