[Jimmy hasn't been around much in the last couple of days. There's a good reason for that, a damn good one, and he's about to make it known. He looks tired, worn down, maybe even a little sick as he turns the communicator towards himself to begin recording.]
I died.
[No preamble, no explanation for the moment.]
I died, 'n I don't know what to think about it. I don't know whether I could've done anythin' to stop it. I don't know why the hell I had to come back to life.
[He rests his chin on his hand, sighing.]
All I know is I could sure use someone to talk to right about now. Or drink with. I ain't picky.

[And besides, if most people don't know it, it's gotta be a good one, right?]

[For a little history. White takes a pull from his cigarette.]
One of those curse, or so he says, woke up that part of 'im. Usually he didn't go around having at people like they're hamburgers. I wasn't convinced. He went after Orange.

[How does he phrase that delicately? It's an uncomfortable situation all around, as he now well knows.]
... get him?

[White smiles ruefully.]
Stuck in deadly situations from time to time but...not fuckin' dying.
[Give him a moment to ship.]
I was so fucking pissed. You can imagine. Orange insisted it was a curse for Amory. I didn't buy it. So I decided to give him something to remember.

[He can say it casually. The way he sees it, it's obvious Mr. White loves Mr. Orange. Nothing wrong with that in his book.]
So what'd you do?
no subject
[That four letter word that's easy to pass with strangers but hard to come up and say. Well.]
I found Amory out in the street. Got him to an alley way. Really did a number on him. He could have killed Orange. He almost did. I wouldn't have been able to do a thing for him. That was all I could think. Sure was tempting but I didn't kill 'im. I took out his teeth as a present.

[Because hey, look at how he got killed -- trying to fight someone who tried to hurt someone he cared about. He and White have some similarities.]

Seemed right by me. At least at the time. I've done some shitty fucking deeds cursed. I don't think I'm exempt from it, not all the time. Not when I got the stuff in me to do it otherwise.
[Another long drink then a puff of his Chesterfield cigarette.]
I'm not saying for you to do the same but in your shoes I fucking know what I'd do. You got a choice, Jimmy. The choice isn't to take out the piece of shit because at the end of the day that's no choice at all. Anybody would. The choice is to be a bigger man.
no subject
[He still feels pretty bad about that, but he didn't really have a choice.]
I ain't gonna do anythin' to the guy. He wants to apologize, I'll let him apologize. He wants to stay away from me, he can stay away from me. It's up to him. I figure he was cursed 'n he didn't have any idea what he was doin'. If he comes after me again, though...
[He shakes his head firmly.]
... then I'll take him out.
no subject
[And had done a shitty thing or two on his own. White shakes his head a little.]
Sounds like at least you have your head. That's important. Just don't rush nothing. What might make sense now might get tossed aside when you have a chance to really get fucking even.
[He would do something like that. No assumption on Jimmy. Another sip.]
Good man. Sorry I wasn't around.
no subject
[He's pretty sure White knows that better than most, actually.]
I'm just glad you weren't there gettin' hurt, too.
