Scratch that, I think I'm in quite a lot of trouble actually. Possibly Rift-related. I've no idea where I am, or how I got here. It's a city but it doesn't look familiar at all.

...and I think I just saw a candied apple with legs run past. Really could use a hand right now.

I was starting to get that feeling. Or at least that this wasn't the Earth I'm used to.

It's a...crack or tear in space-time. It isn't exactly stable, and when it gets really active things can get messy.

I don't suppose you have any data on the nature of the energy readings of this Rift? I'm wondering if it's anything similar to whatever phenomenon or technology that's being harnessed to drag and return people in the City to and from the multiverse.

I suppose I fall under the category of 'anyone'. Doubtless, you're receiving a lot of assistance right now, but I thought I'd chime in.

You're probably going to be just fine, but you have some adjustment ahead of you. For now, just focus on sitting down and breathing deeply. And don't think about the candy people. They'll go away soon, I suspect.

You have to admit that it's a pretty bizarre introduction to a new place. Other than the candy, though, everything seems fairly all right. Though I am starting to get the feeling that you're all used to people like me popping in unannounced...

As far as I can determine, we're trapped in a sort of pocket universe where no one can leave unless one of our caretakers determines they want us gone. Then we're sent back to our homes with little or no memory of our time here, and no time has passed while we were away.

To say that this is a bit odd would be an understatement.

And yes, people arrive here with alarming regularity.
