From social epidemiological perspective, some people do tend sleep better when with company. Doesn't go for everyone, but there have been studies on that.

No one ever shared a bed with me for that long before.

His friendship with Bones is about as close as they can get without morphing into one person, but he still isn't sure if he'll annoy him to death on a nightly basis. ]

There are a lot of things more important to me than what people assume I get up to in private. Anyway, if Spock finds out, I'm sure he'll ask. [ but knowing spock, he'll understand. if spock sees this post - sees all the searches for nightmares and headaches - then find them sleeping in the same bed, bones just knows that he'll make the logical conclusion. he can at least trust spock for that. ] Making assumptions without concrete proof is not logical.

[ He prefers the idea of having someone there to talk him down from the nightmares. Between that and waking up alone in cold sweats, raking through his hair, he'll give anything a go. (Besides, he can always get Leonard to go fetch him a glass of milk or something equally ridiculous. That'll be fun.) ]
