[He's skeptical about fairs in general -- especially around here, because who knows what kind of ridiculous things could be lurking in the shadows -- but he'd heard that the fair had a significant surplus of delicious food, and there was no way he could resist the temptation.

Besides, the casino didn't open up for a couple more hours, and there really wasn't any reason he needed to be there early. That gave him just enough time to wander through the fair, picking out all the food he wanted to try, and finding somewhere to settle down with his bounty of disgustingly sweet treats.

So if you happen across a tiny gangster with a whole box of donuts, some funnel cake, a cup of hot chocolate, and some cotton candy, don't be alarmed. The man runs on pure sugar, after all.]

[Meanwhile Julie went for a thing of fried chicken. She's going for fried cookie dough later.

And she recognizes Meyer from before so she heads over with a grin.]

Any bacon maple donuts anywhere?

[He waves at her, not speaking until he swallows this way-too-big bite of funnel cake.]

Hi. Yeah, I think there's a bacon maple donut in the box somewhere. You want to try it?

You bought it. I'll split it with you.

[In truth, her stomach is still a bit off from yesterday so today she's trying to proceed with caution.]

Sounds good. Have a seat, if you want.

[There's space here for her to sit down, once he moves the donut box. He hasn't even started on the donuts yet, but that won't last long. Finding the maple bacon donut, he splits it in half very carefully, then wipes his hands on his handkerchief -- he may be obsessed with sugar, but he's also concerned about keeping things neat and tidy. He holds it out to her.]

I hope it tastes as good as it sounds. We may be setting ourselves up for disappointment.

[She settles next to him, carefully balancing her to-go container of fried chicken on her knee. They're just wings with a small dipping container of very hot sauce on the side, but she still wants to be able to eat them.

Taking her half of the donut, she looks at Meyer with her usual smirk.]

On three? Your count.

[He really tries to be dignified about cramming this donut into his mouth, but there's only so much dignity you can have when you're eating things like this at a fair. As soon as he gets a bite of it, his eyes light up. Yep, it's good. Just as good as he'd been hoping.]

[Honestly the amount of fried food around here is rather unnerving, especially since they don't do so much frying at home. The cotton candy is just bizarre and ... well... yes.

Still, a familiar face is nice and Laruna beelines over to him with a smile.]

Are you actually going to eat all of that?

[He looks at his little pile of food with a tiny smile.]

Maybe not all at once. Why, do you want some?

No! It looks like it'd give me a stomach ache. Have you seen some of the things they fry out here?

Sure I've seen it. Makes me want to try a little bit of everything.

[She sits next to him. Having figured he was madly in love with some other guy, she's given up on flirting with him and is instead going with friendly.]

We don't have anything like this at home.

[He's relieved at the lack of flirting, though he wouldn't be relieved at the rationale behind it.]

It's worth a try, just to say you've tried it. I've never met anyone that doesn't like food on sticks.

Julie pretty much said fuck dignity and took a huge bite and thank God she did. She can't speak, but the semi-blissed out look on her face should say it all.

[Since he'd taken a smaller bite, he's able to speak long before she is, but not before first having a sip of his hot chocolate. Might as well have something else sweet to go with the donut.]

[Don't mind him, he's just in the process of stuffing a piece of cotton candy into his mouth before he looks up and spots her. He smiles slightly, a bit embarrassed.]

I couldn't pick just one thing.

I don't think it makes everything better. Far from it, as a matter of fact -- I think the donut makes the bacon better.
