[Lara is sitting cross-legged in a high-backed chair, dressed in sweat pants and a t-shirt, feet bare. From the stack of papers and books around her, she has been busy. She addresses the network.]





I understand that there are people who know others in the City from before they were brought here. There are a few groups of at least six, I believe, and doubtless, there are more with which I'm unfamiliar.

[She taps her pen against her full bottom lip.]

I find that intriguing. Could those in such groups or with knowledge of same respond, please? Perhaps there is a pattern to who is snatched and from where. I'd like to find out.

There're two others from home here that I know of, but I only really talk to one of the guys.

[For good reason. Including the fact that one of them is played by the same person as plays this guy >.>]

I mean, that ain't a lotta people, I know, but it's kinda more than I expected.

I find it interesting that more than one person from the same 'universe', for lack of a better word, has been brought here. I've heard of the larger groups, though I'm only aware of the identity of one of them, but I'd like to make note of all instances.

Well, y'know, I don't pretend to be an expert about this kinda thing, but it does strike me as odd that people from the same universes'll often arrive real close to each other.

[He shrugs.]

I showed up about a year ago, and there wasn't anyone I knew. Couple weeks later, a friend of mine from back home shows up. Couple weeks after that, another guy shows up. Seems like one second there's nobody, 'n a couple weeks later, there're a bunch of people from the same place. Maybe the first person who arrives, y'know, draws the rest of 'em in somehow.

How it works is likely to remain a mystery for now, though that could be possible.

A couple of weeks between arrivals... So there are three in your group, yes?

Yep, only three, 'n nobody else from home has shown up for a long time.

Um, 2 sort of. But really just 1. It's a bit complicated.

Just one person. [ Three in total, actually. But his alter-ego is the only one who's meant to know about them. ] So far, the selection seems pretty arbitrary to me.

I'm not in any of those groups, but I'd like to help with your research. I've been trying to figure that out myself, butI haven't gotten very far.

So, the question is, will more arrive or, for some reason yet to be determined, does the City have 'enough' people from your group?

Well, I sure as hell think we have enough. I mean, there're some people I wouldn't mind seein' again, but I don't want 'em to be stuck here. You got anyone from home, or're you all alone?

Well they're sort of the same person but they look different. One is from the past and the other is sort of current.

I doubt anyone wants to be stuck here. I'm trying to figure out the reasons for certain people to be brought here in the first place.

[She sighs softly and makes some more notes.]

I'm the only one from my home, as far as I know.
