So I've had a thought. With all the inventors and geniuses in the City right now, how come there's no-one developping some software that let others know when a person is cursed? Just think about it, we - the users - have to answer a few safety questions, and if we don't get all the answers right, for example, an alert message can be sent to our most trusted person.

Alternately, it could just prevent you from sending embarrassing text messages to everyone, for example. I know the general effort is focused on getting everyone out, but that's like saying the general effort when you're stuck on a deserted island is to swim back to your country. Can't we build a raft first? Just consider it.

[There's a pause.] Also, is there any newspaper in the City?

Always be prepared. Oooh. We should all be boyscouts for a day. Now why doesn't the City give us curses like that that'd actually help. Except less with the boy and more with the scout part of things.

I kinda of feel like you're right. I think it'd be nice to have something like that. Are you thinking about making one?

I have little to no idea what it takes to run a newspaper, unfortunately. It's like with the preemptive warning text thing, the idea's there but the execution is - not.

I have to assume the curse would find a way around a lock. The same way it finds to lock our own posts from deletion.

Yeah, I wish I could come up with a charm that locked my wand in a drawer if I was ever too cursed to use it. Safety nets, you know? Just because I fly without one doesn't mean I don't believe in it.

Haven't got to say anything half the time, just think it. I'd Summon my broom to me so it'd catch me, or I'd levitate my clothes so they pull me back up.

These things have been proposed, and the idea is very good, but there have been problems in utilizing this system.

I have recently altered my own network device so that I must input the correct number sequence before being given posting access. There are ways to bypass this, should I turn into something without thumbs. It's far from perfect, even for a single person.

You know, Pavel - I think even the latter is better than nothing. How do you not forget the sequence of numbers? What ways to bypass are there?

They are not numbers I would forget--not unless I was very far removed from myself.

There is a voice-recognition key, as well, although there are many instances where that would be useless here. I haven't had an opportunity to test it, but I also have a simple radio transmitter that is connected to the network. I might use to alert friends if I am unable to operate my device or leave my apartment. I would show you any of this, if you think that these things would be useful if they were refined and shared.

A test subject? If you wouldn't be opposed to using this primitive radio transmitter that is interfaced with the network, I would be happy for a volunteer. There would be no danger involved, I promise.
